Role: GenAI Creative Director
Location: Remote work residence in Colombia
A little bit about the role:
Awareness and adoption of GenAI technology has transformed advertising, creating entirely new opportunities, and challenges for creative teams. We’re looking for a GenAI Creative Director to lead a team of GenAI Art Directors and Creators. You will be trained on our AI platform, Pencil, and will be using Pencil along with a full range of other AI tools to ensure you and the team deliver high-performing, innovative ads.
You’ll be the go-to leader for creative problem-solving, guiding your team to push the boundaries of GenAI’s potential, overcoming current limitations, and constantly evolving our creative approach as the technology advances.
We need a multi-skilled CD who will direct, inspire, and uplift creative talent at every level, while driving a culture of innovation, positivity, and excellence in GenAI-powered advertising for Brandtech+.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead GenAI-Driven creative excellence.
- Set the standard for quality and originality in GenAI-powered advertising, personally guiding the creative process from brief to delivery.
- Oversee the end-to-end creation of GenAI content - providing direction on concept, copy, design, image/video generation, and final assembly - ensuring all work meets the highest creative and client standards.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and learning, keeping the team informed and inspired by emerging GenAI trends and best practices.
Inspire, Mentor, and Develop Teams
- Lead, support, and elevate a team of GenAI Art Directors and Creators by offering mentorship and technical insight.
- Champion knowledge sharing, facilitate regular reviews, and drive growth at every level, ensuring a positive, collaborative culture.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations to identify development needs, boost staff morale, and enhance creative capabilities across the team.
Client Partnership & Business Impact
- Collaborate with Account teams to interpret client briefs, present GenAI-driven solutions, and manage expectations, educating stakeholders on GenAI’s potential and current limitations.
- Showcase BRANDTECH+ expertise through clear process transparency and successful case presentations to clients and the wider business.
- Contribute to business growth by sharing GenAI’s creative potential with clients and identifying opportunities for expanded engagement.
Shape Workflow & Brand Integrity
- Work closely with resourcing teams to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring the right expertise is applied to each project and deadlines are met.
- Uphold client brand standards across all creative output, acting as a vigilant brand guardian and maintaining consistency at every touchpoint.
Drive Continuous Innovation
- Where needed, collaborate with Product and Training teams to explore, pilot, and refine new GenAI tools, workflows, and features.
- Provide actionable feedback, champion responsible GenAI deployment, and support the roll-out of new techniques and innovations across the team and business.
What you'll need:
- Be highly creative with a strong background in traditional (non AI) advertising.
- Track record of delivering real-world digital advertising.
- Proven expertise and hands-on experience with GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly etc).
- Deep knowledge of GenAI techniques: prompting, model selection, multi-stage workflow integration, and creative fine-tuning.
- A critical eye for detail - able to analyse GenAI-generated outputs, quickly spot subtle errors or inconsistencies, and correct them via prompt refinement or additional editing tools to achieve polished results.
- Strong judgment in evaluating briefs and strategically identifying where and how GenAI can be integrated into the creative workflow for maximum efficiency and impact.
- Passion for AI and new technology
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and related creative software.
- Outstanding leadership and team-management skills; ability to motivate, influence, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Prior agency experience preferred; comfortable directing complex, cross-functional creative projects.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with public speaking, presentation, and client-facing communication abilities.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with a positive attitude towards GenAI’s creative potential.
- Strong commercial acumen; able to balance creative ambition with business objectives.
- Up-to-date understanding of the ethical and legal implications of GenAI in advertising to ensure responsible usage and outputs.
- Willingness to be hands-on and detail-oriented while also operating at a strategic level.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and other business tools.
