General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying they meet customer requirements. Key duties include moving, securing, stacking, and labeling lumber, applying tags, using staple guns, and banding materials. The role also involves maintaining accurate inventory, recording production, keeping a clean work area, and assisting other teams. Participation in safety and continuous improvement programs is also expected.
Must have:
Safely handle lumber products.
Verify material meets customer requirements and company expectations.
Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
Label material based on specifications: type, size, and count.
Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
Band, bundle and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any problems or discrepancies to supervisor.
Record production on production sheets.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
