Telstra is seeking a strategic and commercially astute General Manager – Sales to lead the southern region Mining, Energy & Construction (MEC) client sector in Perth. This pivotal leadership role involves shaping and executing go-to-market strategies, deepening client relationships, and driving sustainable revenue and margin growth across strategic accounts. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing sales team, collaborate cross-functionally, and represent the company at industry events, focusing on complex, high-value environments within the MEC sectors.
Must have:
  • Lead sales team to exceed growth targets in MEC sector.
  • Develop and execute sector-specific sales strategies.
  • Build trusted C-suite relationships with major MEC clients.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product & technology, global networks, service, and delivery teams.
  • Drive pipeline development, deal velocity, reliable and predictable sales performance.
  • Represent the company at industry events, forums, and executive engagements.
  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role supporting the Mining, Energy, or Construction sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering complex, high-value deals.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of the WA market and an established network with key industry decision makers.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven approach.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and executing our go-to-market strategy, deepening client relationships, and delivering sustainable revenue & margin growth across a portfolio of strategic accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a sales team to exceed growth targets across the MEC sector.
  • Develop and execute sector-specific sales strategies aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders across major mining, energy, and construction clients.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product & technology, global networks, service, and delivery teams to ensure client success.
  • Drive pipeline development, deal velocity, reliable and predictable sales performance.
  • Represent the company at industry events, forums, and executive engagements.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role supporting the Mining, Energy, or Construction sectors.
