The Junior Accounting & Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing, calculating, and recommending financial direction for the company. Two large areas of focus are company cash flow and royalty statements. The ideal candidate will be able to work cross-functionally throughout the business to build and update a cash flow forecast. This candidate will also be responsible for all royalty statement reporting. The ideal candidate will work to ensure that rights holders receive accurate and timely payments in accordance with licensing agreements. This position requires strong project management and analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex contracts. Experience with financial data and reporting is essential.

• $45K - $65K annual salary, based on experience and skillset
• Part Time to Full Time depending on capability

Role Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow forecasting and recommendations for business.
• Create and manage budgets for physical goods and merchandise
• Prepare licensor statements on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements.
• Calculate royalties based on sales, expenses, revenue sharing and licensor agreements terms and conditions.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in royalty calculations and payments.
• Tracking and payment of advances, recoupments, reserves, liquidation and revenue sharing allocations and payment schedules.
• Sending statements to the Developer, Partners, and Licensors and responding to inquiries.
• Analyst current and past trends for discount percentages and frequencies to ensure maximizing revenue
• Explore expansion of sales channels to 3rd parties (Humble Bundle, GOG, Fanatical, etc)
• Make pricing recommendations for various products.
• Provide direction to partner accounting firm regarding payments, invoicing, account coding.
• Record incoming and outgoing invoices and payables in Quickbooks

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Exceptional financial analysis and reporting skills, with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
• Strong project management skills.
• Willingness to embrace ambiguity and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for the video game industry including knowledge of titles, video game lifecycles, etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Existing experience within the video game industry
• Eagerness to develop and take on greater managerial and leadership roles over time
• Strong Proficiency in Quickbooks
• Experience with Shopify
