Alphawave Semi is seeking a Lead Design Verification Engineer to accelerate critical data communication in our digital world. This role involves leading a team of verification engineers, overseeing end-to-end verification flows for ARM/RISC based multi-CPU SoCs, and collaborating with design teams and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate will develop scalable testbench components using UVM, create test cases for ASIC RTL and FPGA environments, and support emulation and FPGA teams. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge SoC designs in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • Lead team of verification engineers verifying ARM/RISC based multi-CPU SoCs.
  • Own and oversee end-to-end verification flow from plan creation to gate level simulations and sign-off.
  • Work with third party vendors and IP suppliers for verification.
  • Collaborate with design team to develop verification requirements and define critical feature scopes.
  • Develop scalable testbench components for verifying critical RTL and firmware features using UVM.
  • Develop test cases to verify SoC and subsystem in ASIC RTL and FPGA environments.
  • Support Emulation and FPGA teams on verification of compute subsystem and SoC.
  • Perform multi-power domain, multi-voltage domain RTL and gate level simulations.
  • Define VIP requirements and work with vendors for integration and support.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of ASIC design verification experience.
  • Extensive experience in building reusable testbenches and strong debugging skills.
  • Demonstrable expertise in processor-based SoC verification.
  • Proficiency in UVM, System Verilog, VHDL, Verilog, C.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies for design verification.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Multi Core CPU SoC verification.
  • Knowledge of verification of Arm CPUs such as Neoverse, coherent NoCs such as CMN, and NCore.
  • Understanding of peripherals and protocols including PCIe, CXL, AMBA AXI & CHI, I2C, SPI, USB, NVMe, eMMC, JTAG/SW, Ethernet.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting SoC bring up in lab targeting different test cases and actively debugging issues on bench setup.
  • Managed DV activities across different teams at Subsystem as well as Top level verification setup.

What You'll Do

  • Lead team of verification engineers verifying our ARM/RISC based multi-CPU SoCs in an inclusive team environment.
  • Own and oversee the end-to-end verification flow from verification plan creation to gate level simulations and sign-off for tape-out.
  • Work with third party vendors and IP suppliers to verify both at compute subsystem level and SoC-level of the design.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop verification requirements and define critical feature scopes.

What You'll Need

Salary and Benefits

Your contribution will be recognized with a base salary within the range of $140,000 to $210,000 annually as It is influenced by your qualifications, experience, location, and the internal equity of our team to ensure fairness and consistency across roles. In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, employees are also eligible for additional compensation opportunities, including a short-term incentive program, Retirement & Saving Programs and participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
