This position collaborates with various teams, provides strategic feedback, designs automated customer engagement programs, and continuously refines workflows based on data-driven insights, ensuring marketing teams are trained and supported.

About the Role

The Marketing Automation Architect role will strengthen our Marketing Technology and Data Team to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and overall impact of marketing campaigns. You will partner with Springer Nature Marketers to design seamless customer journeys, onboard new customers, and enhance the effectiveness of our digital marketing strategies and systems. Additionally, this position will champion the introduction of new technology and data capabilities, driving their adoption to optimize marketing impact.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with research, marketing, data, and strategy teams to align marketing automation initiatives with business objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on marketing automation platforms, ensuring optimal utilisation and seamless integration within the tech stack.
  • Partner with business analysts and scrum teams to provide strategic feedback and business context.
  • Support marketing teams in designing and executing automated, cross-channel customer engagement programs by defining business requirements, functional workflows, customer journeys, and process design.
  • Continuously test and refine automation workflows and campaign components to enhance performance, leveraging data-driven insights for optimisation.
  • Adopt an agile, test-and-learn approach to improve program effectiveness, track key performance metrics, and inform strategy.
  • Train and support marketing teams in automation tools and best practices, ensuring consistency and proficiency across teams.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to marketing automation processes and integrations.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Experience in marketing automation, campaign management, or a related role.
  • Expertise in one or more marketing automation platforms, such as HubSpot, Braze, or Pardot.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive insights to oprimise marketing performance.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and bridge technical and non-technical discussions.

Desirable            

  • Experience collaborating with technical, product and data teams.
  • Up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in marketing automation.
  • Knowledge in the academic publishing industry or similar.
  • Understanding of system data hygiene.
