Job Description

Intel is seeking an MCP Emulation Verification Engineer to perform functional logic verification of integrated SoCs. The role involves defining and developing scalable verification plans, test benches, and environments, executing verification plans, debugging issues in presilicon, and collaborating with various engineering teams. Responsibilities also include documenting test plans, incorporating security activities, and improving existing functional verification infrastructure. This position contributes to creating world-changing technology.
Must have:
  • Perform functional logic verification of an integrated SoC to ensure design meets specifications.
  • Define and develop scalable and reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans, test benches, and environments.
  • Execute verification plans and define and run emulation and system simulation models to verify the design.
  • Replicate, root cause, and debug issues in the presilicon environment.
  • Find and implement corrective measures to resolve failing tests.
  • Collaborate and communicate with SoC architects, microarchitects, full chip architects, RTL developers, postsilicon, and physical design teams.
  • Document test plans and drive technical reviews of plans and proofs with design and architecture teams.
  • Incorporate and execute security activities within test plans, including regression and debug tests.
  • Maintain and improve existing functional verification infrastructure and methodology.
  • Absorb learning from postsilicon on the quality of validation done during presilicon development, update test plan for missing coverages, and proliferate to future products.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years relevant experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience with RTL, Verilog, VHDL.
  • Experience on Pre-Si validation on Emulation, preferably Zebu.
Good to have:
  • Experience on validation at MCP.
  • Experience with pre-Si verification with System Verilog OVM/UVM on content development.
  • Scripting languages such as Python, Simics.
  • Experience with Synopsys simulation and coverage tools.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Performs functional logic verification of an integrated SoC to ensure design will meet specifications.
  • Defines and develops scalable and reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans, test benches, and the verification environment to meet the required level of coverage and confirm to microarchitecture specifications.
  • Executes verification plans and defines and runs emulation and system simulation models to verify the design, analyze power and performance, and uncover bugs.
  • Replicates, root causes, and debugs issues in the presilicon environment.
  • Finds and implements corrective measures to resolve failing tests.
  • Collaborates and communicates with SoC architects, microarchitects, full chip architects, RTL developers, postsilicon, and physical design teams to improve verification of complex architectural and microarchitectural features.
  • Documents test plans and drives technical reviews of plans and proofs with design and architecture teams.
  • Incorporates and executes security activities within test plans, including regression and debug tests, to ensure security coverage.
  • Maintains and improves existing functional verification infrastructure and methodology.
  • Absorbs learning from postsilicon on the quality of validation done during presilicon development, updates test plan for missing coverages, and proliferates to future products.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years relevant experience or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years relevant experience

Relevant work experience should be of the following:

  • Experience with RTL, Verilog, VHDL.
  • Experience on Pre-Si validation on Emulation, preferably Zebu.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on validation at MCP.
