Carbon Health is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant to join their Urgent Care team. This role supports both front and back office functions, essential for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with minor procedures and tests, administering injections, supporting telehealth and in-person visits, maintaining EHR documentation, assisting with front desk duties, and ensuring exam room cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program, possess current BLS certification, at least 6 months of clinical experience (Urgent Care preferred), strong communication skills, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

We are currently seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. This position supports both front and back office functions and is essential in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be flexible, dependable, and comfortable working in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs

  • Assisting with minor procedures and exams

  • Performing in-house tests such as strep, flu, and urinalysis

  • Administering injections and vaccinations

  • Supporting telehealth and in-person visit workflows

  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the EHR

  • Assisting with front desk duties when needed (check-in, insurance verification, etc.)

  • Ensuring cleanliness and stocking of exam rooms

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Current BLS certification

  • At least 6 months of experience in a clinical setting (Urgent Care preferred)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
