Operations Reliability Engineers guide development and operations teams in creating reliable designs for new technology components, modules, and products. They identify high-risk failure modes early in the design lifecycle and leverage engineering knowledge to mitigate them before production ramp. Responsibilities include collaborating with reliability engineering teams for operational readiness, facilitating problem resolution by driving cross-functional focus on reliability issues, partnering with Failure Analysis engineers for root cause identification, and acting as a gatekeeper for reliability risk during product ramp and production. They also lead Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT) to scale validated prototype designs, partner with sustaining and AppleCare teams to enhance reliability experience, incorporate lessons learned into future designs, invent new testing methods for efficiency and detection, and investigate the use of big data and machine learning for reliability testing and early warning systems. Willingness and ability to travel internally up to 20% is required.
