Mission of the role
The Planning Coordinator leads the planning area and supervises this team. It is an essential function to manage and optimize key supply chain areas, such as demand planning, S&OP, production planning, material planning, and inventory management. Will be responsible for ensuring the integration and optimization of planning processes, maintaining accurate master data, and managing inventory levels for raw materials, finished products, and packaging to align with strategic business objectives and improve customer service, in addition to supporting Buckman's growth.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Optimized Production Scheduling:
- Lead the preparation of the Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring alignment with sales forecasts and production capacities.
- Work closely with production teams during downtime and maintenance schedules to minimize disruption.
- Drive improvements in the S&OP process to enhance supply planning for a 12-month demand horizon.
- Analyze production schedule results to identify and implement continuous improvements.
- Facilitate scenario planning workshops to prepare for potential supply chain disruptions or increasing demand.
2. Master Data Management:
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and update Material Master Data for optimal planning results.
- Guide local users in the Ackumen/Connected Planning tool, ensuring system performance and user proficiency.
- Implement regular master data audits/reviews to ensure data integrity across all systems.
- Develop training modules for planners on the importance of master data accuracy for planning precision.
3. Effective Inventory Management:
- Manage MRP/SAP parameters to calculate and maintain optimal inventory levels for each material.
- Monitor inventory monthly, identifying and addressing slow-moving or obsolete stock (SLOB) to reduce waste.
- Lead initiatives to reduce product backlog and improve Perfect Order percentage.
- Implement and review inventory KPIs/projections to drive strategic inventory decision-making.
- Conduct root cause analyses on inventory discrepancies and develop action plans to prevent recurrences.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Define objectives for demand, materials, and production planners, fostering a collaborative learning culture and teamwork.
- Mentor and develop planning team members in the effective use of planning tools and complexity management.
- Advocate for the harmonization and consolidation of processes within the supply chain, aligning with the Buckman Global Strategy.
- Organize regular skill enhancement sessions to keep the team updated with the latest planning methodologies.
- Promote a feedback culture for continuous team and process improvement.
5. Strategic Planning Integration:
- Support demand planning by reviewing sales forecast numbers and improving forecast accuracy.
- Coordinate and support the S&OP process, ensuring all steps are managed with process owners for optimal results.
- Contribute to the Buckman Transformation Project, ensuring planning activities support strategic initiatives.
- Develop and present strategic planning scenarios to senior management for decision-making.
- Engage in market analysis to anticipate trends that may impact medium and long-term planning.
6. Engage Interface Teams in S&OP:
- Facilitate regular workshops or meetings with the sales team to integrate their insights into the S&OP process, fostering a collaborative environment for more accurate demand forecasting.
- Drive initiatives to educate and align the sales team on the importance of forecast accuracy, using tools and metrics to illustrate the impact of sales input on planning results and take action.
- Enable collaborative planning with customers through the Sales team.

Minimum requirements to apply for the position
- Education: Materials, Production, Chemical Engineering, related areas.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in Production Planning, Materials, Demand, and Supply Chain.
- Language: Advanced English level.
Technical skills:
- Advanced Excel knowledge.
- Advanced Power BI knowledge is desirable.
- Expert knowledge in supply chain planning methodologies/processes, including MPS, MRP, and S&OP.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for inventory control and planning.
- Skills in leading change management and process improvement in a supply chain context.
- Expertise in engaging sales teams in planning processes to align sales activities with supply chain capabilities.
- Skills in using sales data and feedback to refine planning and demand forecasting models.
