Role Profile:

As part of our high-performing software engineering team, you’ll help us create innovative solutions that drive our business forward. Your ability to lead, mentor, and deliver high-quality software is crucial.

Role Summary:

• Key Accountabilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions. Mentor and guide junior engineers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery of high-quality products.
• Success Factors: Demonstrated expertise in software engineering, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the design and development of software solutions.
• Write, test, and maintain high-quality code in programming languages such as Java, Python.
• Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment to ensure robust and scalable software systems.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing code reviews and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery of high-quality products.
• Drive innovation and excellence in software engineering practices.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of software systems.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

What You'll Bring:

• Extensive experience in software engineering, strong leadership and mentoring skills, proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and a deep understanding of software development methodologies.
• PySpark: Proficiency in using PySpark for real-time, large-scale data processing in a distributed environment. Experience with PySpark DataFrames, Structured Streaming, and MLlib for machine learning.
• Spark SQL: Strong knowledge of Spark SQL for working with structured data. Ability to write and optimize SQL queries within Spark programs, and integrate with Hive for advanced SQL functionalities.
• Databricks: Experience with Databricks for unified analytics, including SQL Analytics and Workspace management. Familiarity with Databricks architecture, serverless compute, and classic compute planes.
• Hadoop/Flink or equivalent: Hands-on experience with HDFS, MapReduce, YARN, and Hive for batch data processing. Expertise in real-time stream processing using Apache Flink, including event time processing, windowing, and stateful computations.
• Microsoft Fabric: Understanding of Microsoft Fabric for data movement, processing, ingestion, transformation, and real-time event routing. Experience with Fabric's integrated services like Data Engineering, Data Factory, Data Science, and Real-Time Intelligence.
• Strong understanding of distributed computing principles and data parallelism.
• Experience with cloud technologies, such as Azure/AWS
• Excellent English, both spoken and written
• Desirable Skills: Knowledge of financial markets, and familiarity with agile development practices.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to learning and development.
