Job Description

Respawn, founded by Call of Duty creators, seeks a Producer for the Apex Legends Player Investment team. This role focuses on planning and managing feature development for competitive gameplay and player progression, ensuring a best-in-class experience. The Producer will drive concurrent features, identify and mitigate risks, and optimize development processes. They will act as a communication conduit, maintain schedules, and proactively address roadblocks. This position requires strong cross-functional partnership with various teams to deliver exceptional game outcomes, fostering an environment of creative freedom and passion for groundbreaking games.
Must have:
  • Drive development for multiple concurrent features with staggered release windows.
  • Partner with team leads to understand challenges and identify impediments to success.
  • Establish and maintain the team’s schedule and scope/capacity plans.
  • Focus on development processes, identifying inefficiencies and introducing improvements.
  • Be a conduit of communication, bringing clarity between departments.
  • Maintain and clearly communicate day-to-day priorities aligned with game/feature vision.
  • Work with Production team and department leads, identifying issues or needs.
  • Look at long term strategies for potential roadblocks and proactively address them.
  • Drive features from initial requests through release, feedback, iteration and maintenance.
  • Combat inertia, acting as a force to keep things moving forward.
  • Partner effectively with other producers to support overall efforts and define production best practices.
Good to have:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Producer on AAA game/s through the full development cycle, from concept to ship.
  • Experience with the highly-iterative nature of GaaS, live tuning, and frequent title updates.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to juggle many things at once.
  • Empathy for fixing the problems of others, respect for others’ time.
  • Proactive tendencies, a sense of urgency, and a desire to get things done.
  • Ability to self-motivate and help motivate others.
  • Intense passion for helping people and teams achieve their goals.

Competitive gameplay and our player’s mid- and long-term progression are the core focus of the Player Investment team. As a member of the Player Investment team, you are responsible for planning and managing the execution of feature development in these important game areas. While embracing our player and gameplay-first philosophy, help create a best-in-class experience for our players.

You will create a plan to execute on long- and short-term goals. You are an excellent cross-functional partner that values and facilitates communication, are adept at identifying and mitigating risks, and have a masterful understanding of dependency chains. You will partner closely with our Feature Development, Quality Verification, Product Management, Analytics, and Content teams to deliver excellent outcomes.

What you’ll do...

  • In partnership with product, design, and technical directors / leads, drive development for multiple concurrent features with staggered release windows.
  • Partner with team leads to understand their challenges and identify impediments to success, and ensure development is on track, on quality and aligned with goals.
  • Establish and maintain the team’s schedule and scope/capacity plans.
  • Focus on development processes, identifying inefficiencies and introducing development process improvements.
  • Be a conduit of communication, bring clarity between departments, and provide support to the team in a variety of different capacities.
  • Maintain and clearly communicate day-to-day priorities that align with overall game/feature vision.
  • Work with the Production team and department leads, identifying and informing the team of any issues or needs.
  • Look at long term strategies for any potential roadblocks and proactively address them.
  • Drive features from initial requests through release, feedback, iteration and maintenance.
  • Combat inertia, act as a force to keep moving things forward.
  • Partner effectively with other producers to support overall efforts of the department and help define and encourage production best practices.

Ideally you will have...

  • 4+ years of experience as a Producer on AAA game/s through the full development cycle, from concept to ship.
  • Experience with the highly-iterative nature of GaaS, live tuning, and frequent title updates.
  • Expertise in building, maintaining and delivering against a schedule that considers cross-functional dependencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to juggle many things at once.
  • Empathy for fixing the problems of others, respect for others’ time.
  • A strong understanding of game development methodologies.
  • Experience working with waterfall and agile planning methods.
  • Proactive tendencies, a sense of urgency, and a desire to get things done.
  • Ability to self-motivate and help motivate others.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
  • Intense passion for helping people and teams achieve their goals.
