We are looking for a highly organised and analytical Production Planning & Control Manager to oversee a small team to coordinate the production planning process across multiple departments. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to ensure alignment with customer demand, and capacity constraints and to oversee the shipping of goods to meet customer demand
Must have:
  • Development of strategy and implementation plan to create a planning and scheduling capability to identify long, mid and short-term production requirements (people, process, materials and assets) to support quality execution of the production plan
  • Analyse the orderbook weekly and share with the business the current orderbook and any forward trends that need attention.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless operations to deliver the customer requirements.
  • Effectively oversea the management of schedules in response to engineering changes, quality issues, or urgent customer requirements.
  • Lead weekly production planning meetings and communicate schedule updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse capacity and resource availability to identify constraints and recommend solutions.
  • Generate reports and KPIs to track schedule adherence, capacity utilisation, and on-time delivery.
  • Accountable and responsible for all finished goods locations
  • Ensure all goods are shipped in a timely manner to meet customer requirements and business financial objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times and improve scheduling accuracy.
  • Run the weekly PSI (Production, Sales and Inventory) report out and the monthly SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) reporting out to the Engine Cooling Group
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the despatch department.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery performance, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the team in managing relationships with third-party logistics providers and couriers.
  • Oversee stock control and inventory accuracy in the despatch area.

Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of strategy and implementation plan to create a planning and scheduling capability to identify long, mid and short-term production requirements (people, process, materials and assets) to support quality execution of the production plan
  • Analyse the orderbook weekly and share with the business the current orderbook and any forward trends that need attention.

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production scheduling or planning in a heavy manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and production planning principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strategic thinker, able to define a vision and the mechanism to deliver the associated objectives.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously whilst able to motivate others around the business

Proficiency in all Microsoft software, including MS Excel Pivot reports
