Insomniac Games is seeking a Contract Project Manager, Cinematics, to lead and coordinate with vision holders in setting Cinematic team goals. This role involves ensuring successful documentation, tracking, and implementation of cinematics across the game. The Project Manager will manage schedules, facilitate communication, and resolve development challenges to deliver a strong, cohesive gaming experience.
Must have:
  • Build, modify, and maintain schedules for assigned Pods.
  • Partner with Track and Pod Leads for milestone goals and deliverables.
  • Anticipate and solve production problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Break down complex production expectations into actionable deliveries.
  • Guide stakeholder reviews and feedback processes.
  • Communicate project changes and progress to the development team.
  • Facilitate cross-discipline communication and unblock team members.
  • Maintain awareness of Pod content status through regular play sessions.
  • Five plus years of professional experience in video game project management.
  • Experience working closely with Cinematics teams.
  • Understanding of cross-discipline pipeline (Design, VFX, Audio, Rigging, Art).
  • Proficiency in project management software and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking databases (DevTrack, TFS, Jira, Flow).
  • Working knowledge of version control software.

Project Manager, Cinematics (CONTRACT)

CONTRACT ROLE

Insomniac Games is looking for a Project Manager (Cinematics). In this role, the Project Manager (Cinematics) will lead and coordinate with vision holders to set Cinematic team goals, ensuring successful documentation, tracking, and implementation of cinematics across the game. This role is crucial in delivering a strong and cohesive gaming experience by managing schedules, facilitating communication, and solving challenges within the development process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to build, modify, and maintain schedules for assigned Pods in partnership with Pod Leads.
  • Partner with Track and Pod Leads in the creation of milestone goals deliverables
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems independently and collaboratively to ensure smooth production
  • Capable of breaking down large complex production expectations into smaller actionable deliveries
  • Guiding stakeholder reviews and feedback process with Pod Leads
  • Communicates update to the development team about project changes and progress.
  • Facilitate cross-discipline communication and unblock team members from task dependencies
  • Maintains awareness of Pod content status through regular play sessions

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Education

  • Five plus years of professional experience or training, or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in project management for video game development.
  • Worked closely with Cinematics teams to assess, track, and follow through on the creation of game wide Cinematic Animations.
  • Understanding of pipeline and dependencies of a cross-discipline pod that includes Design, VFX, Audio, Rigging, and Art Can facilitate reviews, follow ups, and drive solution-based conversations.
  • Other tasks may be assigned

Skill/Ability

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and methodologies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Responsible for maintaining the schedule and structure of a project and keeping team members accountable for the project’s timeline and deadlines.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking database(s) is required DevTrack, TFS, Jira, Flow or other industry standard.
  • Working knowledge of version control software.
  • Perforce is preferred.

Other Skills

  • Solves problems both independently and collaboratively and adheres to the studio’s expectations of cultural leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be able to present ideas clearly and work well within a large team environment.
  • Must be a good team leader and be able to make informed decisions to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to create and maintain good relationships with other departments.
