Job Description

We are seeking a QA Engineer (Data) to join our Technology Vertical in Australia. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across our Payments vertical. It's a SQL-heavy position, validating ETL processes, data transformations, and reporting quality across data pipelines and warehouses. Key responsibilities include validating data accuracy, writing advanced SQL queries, building QA automation frameworks for data testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Must have:
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and transformation logic across multiple systems and environments.
  • Write and execute advanced SQL queries to check data accuracy, transformations and integrity across large datasets.
  • Build and enhance QA automation frameworks for data testing, contributing to standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Developers, Product Managers, QAs to ensure test coverage.
  • Proven QA experience with a few years focused on BI, data warehouse, or analytics testing.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience validating large, complex datasets.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance principles.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
  • Strong experience in test automation for data, ideally building frameworks or automation solutions from scratch.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Azure Dev Ops, JIRA and Confluence.
  • Knowledgeable in API testing (e.g., Postman).
Good to have:
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Exposure to data quality frameworks or tools (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).
  • ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent certification.

We are looking for a QA Engineer (Data) to join our Technology Vertical in Australia and make a real impact every day. Reporting into QA Tech Lead, you will be a key part of the team ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across our Payments vertical. This is a SQL-heavy role, focused on validating ETL processes, data transformations, and reporting quality across data pipelines and warehouses. Some of the other responsibilities include:

  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and transformation logic across multiple systems and environments.
  • Write and execute advanced SQL queries to check data accuracy, transformations and integrity across large datasets.
  • Build and enhance QA automation frameworks for data testing, contributing to standards and best practices from the ground up.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Developers, Product Managers, QAs to ensure test coverage and alignment with business goals.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and provide technical guidance on BI testing best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of QA frameworks, standards, and automation strategies for data testing.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to guide QA planning and estimation, validate data quality in SIT and production, and recommend improvements to QA processes and automation strategies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledgeable in API testing (e.g., Postman)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong attention to detail and a passion for data quality.
  • Comfortable working independently and leading initiatives in a remote team environment.
  • A testing mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-changing, distributed environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) is advantage.
  • Exposure to data quality frameworks or tools (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).
  • ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with test automation in data environments.
