Must have:
  • Plan and execute project test plans.
  • Assess projects and identify testing areas.
  • Solve project issues proactively.
  • Mentor and lead test teams.
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders.

For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd. 

Join our acclaimed studio, the masterminds behind Atomfall, Zombie Army, and the Sniper Elite series, as we seek a talented QA Project Lead! If you’re a seasoned Senior or Lead with a technical flair and the ability to engage with producers and senior management in a dynamic setting, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

In this role, you’ll oversee the quality of our projects, ensuring they meet industry-leading standards. Collaborating closely with experienced project leads, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and monitoring of our initiatives. Your responsibilities will include managing project documentation, coordinating tasks, and upholding the exceptional performance of our testing team on a daily basis.

This exciting opportunity can be based out of either of our studios in Oxford, Warwick or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team! We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment.

We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration and encourage working from our studios. However, we understand that flexibility matters, so we’re open to discussing hybrid options.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create and ensure the timely execution of the project test plan & test cases. 
  • Perform assessments of projects with development and production teams to identify all areas requiring testing and provide risk assessments to avoid problems and bottlenecks in the QA process. 
  • Proactively solve project issues with the help of test teams and management before they impact the project. 
  • Be an active mentor and role model to your team with direct and efficient communication, leading by example and working on maintaining morale by creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm. 
  • Communicate the project status to the rest of the leadership team in QA, Production and other stakeholders (EOD, EOW, Release checklists and PVR reports). 
  • Administer and enforce the quality and consistency of bugs as per the project requirement. 
  • Maintain and update the project’s QA confluence pages as well as documentation for the project's external QA teams. 
  • Provide performance evaluations & feedback to your test team. 
  • Advanced knowledge of JIRA and Confluence. 
  • Expert level knowledge of the development cycle. 
  • Competence to mentor and lead a team by example. 
  • Ability to evaluate your team's strengths and weaknesses and apply these to maximize the team's performance. 
  • Able to analyse the database to draw conclusions on the title's health as well as the team's performance. 
  • Ability to apply logic and support the test team in narrowing down technical bugs when necessary. 
  • Capability to effectively prioritize tasks depending on changing circumstances. 
  • Ability to creatively solve unexpected problems as they may arise.
