Job Description

Electronic Arts Romania is seeking a Quality Designer to enhance player experience. You will collaborate with development, production, and design teams to plan features, analyze data, and review designs. Responsibilities include brainstorming test ideas, integrating them into manual and automated test plans to improve software quality, and addressing test plan gaps with senior management. You will mentor peers, promote best practices across teams, report progress, and advocate for a "Player First" approach. Collaboration with peers and partners to improve testing and operational processes for product efficiency is also expected. Experience with AAA software/game development, source code control, Upstream Quality practices (CI/CD, bug prevention), and test automation environments is required.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of applicable work experience
  • In-depth knowledge of AAA software/game development
  • Experience with source code control (Perforce or GIT)
  • Experience with Upstream Quality practices
  • Experience with test automation environments
  • Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, etc.)
Good to have:
  • Ability to identify and report technical issues
  • Work with medium to large-scale teams and external partners
  • Compile data points into summaries for senior members

Expectations:

  • You will build working relationships with senior members of the development, production, and design teams that you will use to guide a higher quality player experience through tasks such as feature planning, analyzing internal data/player data, and feature/design reviews.
  • You will brainstorm test ideas, integrating them into improved cohesive test plans using both manual and automated testing methods for product features to increase software quality. Also work with senior management to address any identified test plan gaps.
  • You will work towards completing the agreed upon strategy goals.
  • You will be a mentor for peers, assisting with and growing their knowledge.
  • You will collaborate and promote best practices across multiple teams.
  • You will report progress and status through regular email or face-to-face communication with appropriate managers and other team members.
  • You will promote a "Player First" approach always and be an advocate for the player in everything we do to help us achieve a high-quality experience for our players.
  • You will work in partnership with you peers and Partners to improve testing/operational processes to dive product efficiency.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of applicable work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of AAA software/game development (SDLC/STLC), including both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience working with source code control software such as Perforce or GIT and ability to identify and report technical issues.
  • Work with medium to large-scale on-site teams and with external partners.
  • Experience with Upstream Quality practices, such as: CI/CD, bug prevention and containment tools and strategies.
  • Experience with any of the following test automation environments: Games, Console, Mobile or Web UI.
  • Compile data points spanning multiple sources into cohesive and consumable summaries for senior team members.
  • Defect, Test Case and Task tracking tool experience (JIRA, DevTrack, Test Rail, or Hansoft).
