Job Description

The Radar Technician II will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex radar systems, including antenna configuration, processing units, and visualization systems. This role involves diagnosing and repairing electronic subsystems, interpreting technical documentation and electrical schematics, and executing installation and maintenance projects in compliance with technical standards and legislation. The technician will also conduct tests, prepare detailed reports, operate in Linux environments, and train clients on equipment operation.

  • Interpretation of electrical schematics, identification of failure causes, and evaluation of equipment functioning according to technical specifications

  • Instruction and training of clients on the correct operation of installed equipment
  • Knowledge and interpretation of air navigation documents
  • Internal and external contact with other areas, clients, and suppliers to promote collaboration and integration

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Installation of Radar Systems: Involves the installation, adjustment, and maintenance of complex systems used to detect and track objects. This may include configuring antennas, processing units, and visualization systems.
  • Replacement, Repair, and Adjustment of subsystems: The ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs on electronic subsystems is an essential skill. This may involve replacing parts or modules, recalibrating devices, and performing tests to ensure the equipment functions correctly.
  • Use of Electrical Schematics and Technical Documentation: Interpreting electrical schematics and other technical documents is fundamental to understanding system configuration and component location. These documents guide the technician in executing installations and maintenance.
  • Execution of Installation and Maintenance Projects: Working on projects generally involves meticulous planning, from choosing the equipment to be used to developing the installation schedule. Each project must be executed according to specifications and within defined deadlines.
  • Interpretation of Projects, Layouts, and Diagrams: The ability to read and understand diagrams and layouts is essential. Understanding how equipment integrates within a larger system is critical for successful installation and effective maintenance.
  • Compliance with Technical Standards and Legislation: Technical standards (such as ABNT in Brazil) and relevant legislation are fundamental to ensuring that all work is carried out safely and effectively. This may include equipment certification and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Certifications and Training: Depending on the complexity of the systems you work with, specific certifications or technical training in electronics, telecommunications, or related fields may be required.
  • Installation and Maintenance of Systems: Perform installation, preventive, and corrective maintenance of radar systems and general equipment. Conduct tests and trials to ensure proper system functioning, elaborating detailed reports on technical interventions performed.
  • Use of Measurement Instruments: Know and use measurement instruments, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Operation of Systems and Networks: Operate in Linux environments and computer networks, performing the installation and configuration of these systems.
  • Analysis of Technical Reports: Analyze and approve technical follow-up reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the documentation.
  • Effective Communication: Establish clear communication, both oral and written, to facilitate workflow. Review technical documentation for new products and supervise the organization of the workplace.
  • Testing Procedures: Describe procedures for performing tests on new products and approve the generated technical reports.
  • Interpretation of Electrical Schematics: Interpret electrical schematics, identify causes of failures, and evaluate equipment functioning according to technical specifications.
  • Safety Standards: Comply with and ensure compliance with safety standards established by the company and the client.
  • Materials Logistics: Understand the logistics of material transport and handling.
  • Knowledge in Telecommunications: Possess knowledge in telecommunications, especially in the areas of antennas, propagation, and computer networks.
  • Interpretation of Radar Diagrams: Interpret radar visibility diagrams.
  • Client Training: Instruct and train clients on the correct operation of installed equipment.
  • Air Navigation Documents: Know and interpret air navigation documents.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Maintain internal contact with other areas and external contact with clients and suppliers, promoting collaboration and integration.
  • Related Activities: Execute other related tasks as determined by the immediate superior, contributing to the proper functioning of the team and the organization.

Qualifications

  • Technical Course in Electronics or Telecommunications.
  • LINUX programming and computer network configuration.
  • 05 to 07 years of effective professional experience in a technician role.
  • Basic Courses in Electrical and Electronics Areas;
  • Knowledge of Software for Electrical Schematics and Layouts;
  • Know and Handle Basic Measurement Equipment Used in Electronics Laboratory;
  • Advanced Office Suite;
  • Intermediate English
