Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Roto/Prep Lead to lead the roto and prep department. This role involves providing guidance and feedback to maintain high-quality standards, troubleshooting technical issues, reviewing internal shots, and contributing to show-wide pipeline challenges. The lead will collaborate with compositors and VFX supervisors to understand project requirements and maintain a close relationship with Production and Supervisors. The company specializes in compositing, computer graphics, and digital matte painting for film and television productions. Applicants must be resident in and have the legal right to work in the UK.
Must Have:
  • Significant experience in roto and prep within a VFX studio environment
  • Proficiency in software such as Nuke and Mocha
  • Strong understanding of compositing workflows and techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work methodically
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior artists
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Skills/experience:

This role will require you to:

  • Lead the roto and prep department, providing guidance and feedback to maintain high quality standards

  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to roto and prep tasks

  • Review internal roto and prep shots

  • Contribute to show-wide pipeline challenges

  • Collaborate closely with compositors and VFX supervisors to understand project requirements

  • Maintain a close relationship with Production and be the point person for both Production and Supervisors.
