This is an exciting new hybrid role within Marsh's Workers Compensation Team in Adelaide, seeking a Self-Insurance Leader. The successful candidate will drive the self-insurance business, create strategic plans, and engage with key stakeholders to foster growth. Responsibilities include building client relationships, delivering claims and RTW services, collaborating with internal divisions, and providing staff training. The role requires 7-10+ years of industry experience in injury management or claims, strong communication, analytical skills, and proficiency in various software.
Must have:
  • Create strategic business plans, identify services and engage with key stakeholders to grow the self-insurance division.
  • Build strong relationships with current and prospective clients, whilst delivering a broad range of claims & RTW services.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and other divisions within Marsh to enhance brand awareness and leverage cross-market opportunities.
  • Deliver staff training, professional development activities and accurate claims & RTW performance reporting.
  • Lead and support the self-insurance business on various projects.
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of industry experience in injury management, claims, or related fields.
Good to have:
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of RTW & Claims practices, the Return-to-Work Act 2014 and related standards.
  • Skilled negotiator with experience engaging with senior management, legal, medical and union representatives.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles relevant to injury management, fairness and decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and conduct effective meetings with diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds and disciplines.

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Workers Compensation Team in Adelaide. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This is an exciting new role, wherein the successful applicant will be able to drive our self-insurance business in its next chapter.

We will count on you to:

  • Create strategic business plans, identify services and engage with key stakeholders to grow the self-insurance division.
  • Build strong relationships with current and prospective clients, whilst delivering a broad range of claims & RTW services.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and other divisions within Marsh to enhance brand awareness and leverage cross-market opportunities.
  • Deliver staff training, professional development activities and accurate claims & RTW performance reporting.
  • Lead and support the self-insurance business on various projects.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 7-10+ years of industry experience in injury management, claims, or related fields.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of medical protocols, Work Health and Safety practices and relevant legislation.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, LinkedIn.
  • Analytical skills and preparedness to work with our internal AI tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Disability Discrimination & Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.
