Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to lead and advance our organization’s Agile transformation efforts within offshore squads. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and guiding multiple Scrum teams to embrace and optimize Agile practices in alignment with strategic business goals. The Scrum Master will be instrumental in embedding Agile ways of working across teams, ultimately enabling faster, more efficient delivery of high-quality products and exceptional customer experiences. The role is central to fostering an Agile culture and ensuring the organization’s agility scales effectively to meet evolving market demands.
Software Requirements
The successful candidate should have demonstrated proficiency with Agile management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent project collaboration platforms, ideally with experience using these tools at an enterprise level. Knowledge of Agile metrics, dashboards, and reporting features will support effective team monitoring and continuous improvement efforts.
Required skill set includes familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and associated planning and tracking software. Experience with collaboration tools like MS Teams or Zoom for remote facilitation is also necessary.
Preferred software skills include knowledge of advanced Agile tooling, integration tools, or additional project management platforms that enhance team productivity and transparency.
Overall Responsibilities
The Senior Scrum Master will analyze the current maturity of Agile squads, designing strategies to enhance Agile adoption and maturity levels. They will guide teams on Agile best practices, tailoring approaches to meet the organization’s strategic objectives while ensuring consistency and compliance across squads.
Key activities include facilitating Scrum ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives, daily stand-ups), coaching Product Owners and Delivery Leads, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement through goal setting, progress tracking, and metrics-driven practices. The Scrum Master will champion Agile mindsets, fostering an environment of ownership, self-organization, and adaptability.
Additionally, they will drive cultural change initiatives, promote transparency through metrics and objective measures, and ensure Scrum practices align with industry standards and organizational policies. Ensuring effective collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement will be essential in delivering consistent value.
Technical Skills (By Category)
Agile Frameworks & Methodologies:
Deep expertise and practical experience with Scrum, Kanban, and scaled frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS are essential. The candidate should be able to adapt and tailor Agile methodologies based on team and project needs.
Collaboration & Management Tools:
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and similar Agile planning and tracking platforms is required. Experience with MS Teams, Zoom, or other remote collaboration tools is necessary for remote squads.
Metrics & reporting:
Ability to create dashboards, interpret Agile metrics, and generate insights using reporting tools like Jira reports or Power BI is preferred. Familiarity with integrating tools for seamless Agile workflow management is a plus.
Development Skills:
No programming skills are required; however, understanding of software development lifecycle and technical workflows enhances coaching effectiveness.
Other Technologies:
Experience with DevOps tools and continuous delivery practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience Requirements
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing Agile teams or squads in a technical or project delivery environment. Proven success in coaching multiple teams, preferably within banking or financial services, is highly preferred.
Experience leading Agile transformations or maturity initiatives in large organizations, especially in offshore settings, will be considered an asset. Candidates with certifications in Scrum (such as CSP, CSM, SAFe Program Consultant) are preferred, and continuous learning or professional development in Agile methodologies is encouraged.
