Summary

CAE USA Inc. is looking for an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Architect to support the Mission Management Center located at Peterson AFB, CO. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting a 24/7 critical operations center for the US Government.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have advanced AWS Cloud Architecting and administration skills and be well versed working in a virtual environment. The MMC currently has an IL2 cloud architecture consisting of two VPCs and is working towards IL5 and 6. Duties include the following:

  • Discover, categorize and document the existing architecture
  • Visualize the current architecture and recommend improvements
  • Create and secure new architectures
  • Migrate on-premise systems effectively into the cloud
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of the cloud

Minimum  Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (11+ years in total).
  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of the majority of  AWS services and their applicability
  • Current Security+ certification or equivalent certification to allow administrator access to government IT systems
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification (or must be able to obtain within 180 days of start date); proof of certification required
  • AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate certification (or must be able to obtain within 180 days of start date); proof of certification required
  • Understanding of  AWS Lambda
  • Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintan the required clearance level (Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility)

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The ability to work at a desk for eight hours

Salary: $145,000 - $175,000
