Job Description

The Senior Director, Corporate Development, will play a critical role in contributing to the long-term growth and diversification strategy at Qualcomm. Reporting into the Corporate Strategy organization, you will work closely with the Vice President, Corporate Development on highly impactful transactions including Acquisitions, partnerships and investments. Responsibilities include leading corporate development transactions, researching market opportunities, partnering with business and engineering teams for strategic gap analysis, conducting detailed financial analyses, developing executive presentations, and driving diligence with cross-functional teams.
Good To Have:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • 11+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience in a high-tech product or Engineering consulting company.
  • 5+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
  • 5+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
Must Have:
  • Lead and support corporate development transactions through all phases of the transaction lifecycle.
  • Research adjacent and new market opportunities, including opportunity/TAM sizing, target landscaping and competitive analysis.
  • Partner with business and engineering teams to evaluate opportunities to address strategic gaps and conduct build/buy/partner analysis and provide recommendations.
  • Conduct detailed analyses including valuation and pro forma modeling which capture target company trends, deal alignment and expense / investment needs.
  • Develop presentation materials to provide recommendations to the executive team and the board.
  • Work with the PMO, integration team and broader cross-functional teams to drive diligence to validate key assumptions and value drivers.
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Economics, or related field.

• 11+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience in a high-tech product or Engineering consulting company.

• 5+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with no supervision.

• Provides supervision to other supervisors/managers who are direct reports.

• Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.

• Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.

• Has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.

• Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience.

OR

Associate's degree and 14+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
