The Senior Industry Advisor (Payments) at Endava is a strategic and consultative role focused on driving business growth, managing partnerships, and providing industry expertise. This specialist will forge strong client relationships, build C-level trust, and support business development by translating client needs into opportunities. They will also collaborate internally to shape strategy, represent Endava externally as a thought leader, and cultivate new insights and opportunities within the Payments Industry.

Job Description

The Commercial discipline is responsible for driving business growth, managing partnerships, and providing industry subject matter expertise and advisory to both clients and internal teams. This strategic and consultative team creates meaningful relationships with clients through their combined knowledge of IT services and industry trends and pain points. Members include business development staff of all levels, client partners, alliances and partnerships managers, industry advisors, and operational leads.

The Senior Industry Advisor is a specialist role at the heart of Endava’s business strategy. This role demands an individual who brings deep industry expertise, an extensive industry network, and robust client engagement skills to bolster Endava’s credibility and assist in business development. A Senior Industry Advisor acts as a catalyst, using their knowledge to open doors and help seal deals with new and existing clients.

This individual must possess both a breadth and depth of knowledge and relationships in payments, across all form factors (card issuing, merchant acquiring, ACH, Wire, Instant Payments, et al) and all stakeholder groups (merchants, business, processors, banks, et al).

Responsibilities:

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Forge strong relationships with prospects and clients within the industry, translating their unique needs into bespoke opportunities for Endava.
  • Build and maintain C-level executive trust, affirming Endava’s commitment to solution excellence.
  • Engage with clients and industry bodies to fortify Endava's presence as a thought leader.
  • Support business introducers and account teams with expert insights to drive new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to create compelling go-to-market strategies that resonate with industry trends.

Internal Collaboration & Enablement

  • Collaborate closely with sales, delivery, and technical teams to drive Endava’s industry-specific strategic initiatives. Provide internal teams with industry-specific training and workshops to enhance delivery and capability.
  • Utilise industry insights to influence internal strategy, shaping how Endava addresses current and future industry challenges. Act as a strategic advisor for internal teams, guiding them through complex industry-related challenges.
  • Facilitate cross-industry dialogue and learning through internal roundtables and knowledge swaps.

External Representation & Networking

  • Serve as an industry face of Endava, contributing to industry events, online content, and media engagements. Represent Endava at conferences, seminars, and industry events, enhancing the company's network and influence.
  • Participate actively in industry consortium, building relationships that translate into business opportunities.
  • Extend Endava’s reach by connecting with external SME networks and leveraging those relationships.

Insight & Opportunity Cultivation

  • Utilize customer satisfaction assessments and market research to identify new avenues for business growth.
  • Provide expert guidance on technology implementations, best practices, and industry-specific trends to clients. Share and exchange actionable insights with product and engineering groups to inform Endava's service offerings.
  • Support the ecosystem of partners and vendors, enriching Endava’s value proposition through collaboration. Champion the development of Endava’s capabilities in the industry, identifying skills and technologies for investment.
  • Oversee advisory roles within project governance, prioritizing contributions to pre-sales and strategic planning.

Industry Knowledge & Thought Leadership

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Payments Industry, staying abreast of all relevant trends and dynamics.
  • Spearhead the creation and dissemination of white papers and industry trend analysis to showcase Endava’s expertise. Maintain this insight in a robust internal repository for sharing across the industry.
  • Continuously innovate and improve Endava’s industry-specific offerings, ensuring they resonate with market demands.
  • Conduct industry briefings and knowledge sharing sessions to keep both clients and internal teams informed.
  • Curate content for Endava's 'industry university,' providing educational resources for continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a senior advisory or consultancy role within the Payments Industry, demonstrating a track record of leadership and strategic impact.
  • Proven experience in a commercial role, generating or driving new business and growing client and prospect relationships to drive commercial success for an organization.
  • Significant experience in developing and executing global industry strategies, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes in the Payments industry.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams across multiple geographies, with the ability to inspire and drive high performance.
  • A strong background in cultivating executive-level client relationships and driving strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Demonstrated experience in thought leadership, including representing organisations at global industry events and producing impactful thought leadership materials.
  • In-depth knowledge of Payment industry trends, challenges, and opportunities, with the ability to apply this insight to drive business value.
  • Exceptional strategic management and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and convincingly across various levels of an organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to analyse market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategy development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and influence others, fostering a cohesive vision and strategic approach.
