Description
Scopely is looking for a Senior Manager, Business Operations to work closely with our Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) in Culver City on a hybrid basis.
At Scopely, we care deeply about inspiring play, every day – whether in our work environments alongside talented colleagues or through our deep connections with player communities. We are a global team of game lovers who develop, publish, and innovate the gaming industry, connecting millions of people worldwide daily.
Scopely’s Chief Revenue Officer oversees the company’s Publishing Division, which encompasses corporate and business development activities; external relationships with platforms, IP holders, publishers, and studios; marketing, including creative and advertising; and corporate brand & communications.
The Senior Manager, Business Operations will function as a strategic partner to the CRO to maximize business outcomes across the Scopely organization and act as a front line to the CRO, helping prioritize and focus efforts of self and others towards the areas of highest impact. They will assist in the development of long-term strategic plans and initiatives to drive sustainable business growth.
What you Will Do
Executive Partner
Bandwidth and Leadership Multiplier: Act as a force multiplier to the CRO and his direct reports via digest of inbound priorities that need discussion, driving the CRO’s management focus areas with his direct reports, and tracking follow-ups to ensure conversations are surfacing the most critical agenda items.
Master Project Manager: Own the design and execution of project plans on behalf of the CRO, driving these initiatives to better outcomes than if he were to drive them himself, given the limitations he is faced with due to the volume of demands on his time.
Context Disseminator: Provide context and direction to functional leaders, administrative staff, and support teams across the company as needed. Work with company stakeholders across products and functions and driving follow-through.
Publishing Division Leader and Partner: Take ownership of approximately 30-40% of the CRO’s heavy calendaring, working closely with the CRO’s Executive Assistant to ensure the calendar is optimized, aligned with business priorities, and supports proper meeting preparation. Collaborate extensively with leadership and other Chiefs of Staff across the business to enable optimal alignment.
Operations
Prioritization and Process Driver: With ruthless prioritization, and a bias towards action, help manage the day-to-day operations of the Publishing Division, as well as managing CRO’s calendar priorities with the intent of minimizing operational overload, ensuring proper workload balancing, and driving process improvements quickly and efficiently. Analyze opportunities, summarize findings, develop go-forward plans, and act as part of the ongoing team to translate recommendations into results.
Leadership Growth & Development: Partner with CRO to design and evolve forums for leadership growth and development for his direct reports and broader team. Contribute to cross-team efforts to build the culture of the Publishing Division.
Organizational Effectiveness Enabler: As we grow, it will be increasingly important to identify opportunities to promote efficiency and effectiveness across our organization, ensure that both our services and teams can scale, and that we are structured to promote maximum value for our business and communities.
Cadence and Agenda Optimizer: Coordinate with co-CEOs and other executive team members to methodically develop meeting forums, frameworks, and operational cadences to ensure major corporate beats are kicked off and tracked appropriately. As the owner of the CRO’s weekly team meetings, organize and manage agendas, partnering with all participants to bring relevant topics into discussion and visibility.
Communications
Impact and Accountability Partner: Support CRO on developing and articulating functional strategy as a vehicle to drive distributed leadership, inspire the organization, and increase ownership and accountability across all levels and teams.
Readiness and Impact Creator: Partner with Office of Co-CEOs, as well as Brand and Corporate Communications team to develop internal and external communications and ensure the CRO is well-prepared for all media relations and speaking opportunities. Optimize the CRO’s role and involvement across key communication forums. Prepare materials that drive key messaging and allow nuanced and sophisticated communication to happen across the org and teams.
