Job Description

As a Senior Manager – SRE, you will contribute directly to the success of the Cortex IDC team by building and leading a world-class SRE function. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and product—ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and performant. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll lead from the front, guide cross-functional teams, and work alongside developers, researchers, data scientists, and security experts. Your focus will include building automation frameworks, robust CI/CD pipelines, orchestration of end-to-end monitoring, and driving SRE best practices across the organization. You'll play a pivotal role in engineering excellence, driving tooling, automation, and production-readiness across complex cloud-native systems. Primarily this is a GCP centric role, and we are looking for GCP skills talents only.
Must have:
  • Build, grow, and nurture a high-performing production SRE team, including hiring, mentoring, and coaching engineers at all levels.
  • Contribute to seamless 24/7 global site reliability workflows, partnering closely with regional and global SRE counterparts.
  • Influence and align organizational vision by collaborating with engineering, product, security, customer success, and executive stakeholders.
  • Own and drive high-quality, reliable, and resilient services through best-in-class observability, incident response, and automation practices.
  • Champion and implement DevOps/SRE principles for velocity and reliability.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, customer empathy, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Facilitate clear and proactive communication across teams and leadership, ensuring visibility into risk, progress, and dependencies.
  • Guide the team in defining and measuring SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure high service quality and customer trust.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure roles, with a strong foundation in cloud-based environments.
  • 5+ years of proven experience managing SRE/DevOps teams, preferably with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE), GitLab CI/CD, and modern observability practices (e.g., Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
  • Strong experience in managing incident response and postmortems, reducing MTTR, and driving proactive reliability improvements.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as GCP & AWS.
  • Solid grasp of Infrastructure as Code, container orchestration, and scalable cloud architectures.
  • Track record of building tools for system reliability, automated remediation, and performance tuning.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML-based operations tools for automation, anomaly detection, and predictive alerting is a plus.
  • Expertise in SLI/SLO/SLA design and implementation, and driving operational maturity through data.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams.
  • Effective communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
