As a Previs/Layout Artist at Rebel Wolves, you'll translate scripts into captivating cinematic cutscenes using film techniques. You will work closely with the Cinematic Director to create high-quality previs and layout sequences and integrate them into the game engine. You'll ensure cinematic quality and consistency of the scenes. This role requires a strong understanding of cinematic principles and collaboration with the Director. You will develop detailed previs sequences, create layouts, and implement cutscenes into Unreal Engine.
Must have:
  • Strong grasp of cinematic storytelling principles
  • Experience as a Previs/Layout Artist in gaming/film
  • Proficiency in cinematography and editing
  • Ability to collaborate with the Director
  • Basic character animation skills
Good to have:
  • Expertise in using MotionBuilder and Unreal Engine
  • Experience with motion capture

We’re working on an AAA dark fantasy RPG—the first title of a planned saga set in our brand-new universe. The visual style of cinematics is grounded and realistic.

Job description
As a Previs/Layout Artist in our AAA studio, you will help translate scripts into compelling cinematic cutscenes, using the language of film to captivate our audience. Your passion for film and a strong understanding of cinematic techniques are essential for this role. You will work closely with the Cinematic Director to create high-quality previs and layout sequences, support the narrative team in integrating these sequences within the engine, and ensure the scenes' cinematic quality and consistency. Please be advised that we are currently seeking candidates who are able to work within the CET time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed previs sequences for cutscenes.
  • Create layouts of final cinematic sequences.
  • Implement cutscenes into Unreal Engine.
  • Work closely with the Cinematic Director and Director of Photography

Requirements

  • Strong grasp of cinematic storytelling principles, pacing, and camera work.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Previs/Layout Artist in the gaming or film industry.
  • Proficiency in cinematography and editing, with a proven ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to closely collaborate with the Director and Director of Photography to realize the creative vision.
  • Basic character animation skills, capable of effectively blocking out character movements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in using MotionBuilder and Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with motion capture.
