CloudLinux, a global, remote-first company, is seeking a Senior Ruby Engineer with deep Linux systems knowledge and a passion for automation. The role involves developing, enhancing, and maintaining core services and tools for the TuxCare ecosystem. Responsibilities include designing and writing high-quality Ruby code, working extensively with Linux operating systems (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux derivatives), implementing patch management solutions using tools like Foreman, Katello, Pulp, or Satellite, and developing configuration management solutions with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt. The engineer will also work with bare-metal servers and VMs, contribute to system architecture, write technical documentation, and participate in customer-facing troubleshooting.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ruby Engineer to join one of our Platform Engineering teams. This is a critical role for individuals who possess a profound understanding of Linux systems and a passion for automation at scale. You will be instrumental in developing, enhancing, and maintaining the core services and tools that power our TuxCare ecosystem, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency for our global customers.

As a Senior Ruby Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Ruby code for our innovative patch management solution.
  • Work extensively with Linux operating systems, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or its derivatives like CentOS/Fedora), demonstrating deep comfort with its internals.
  • Implement and manage solutions for patch management using technologies such as Foreman, Katello, Pulp, or Satellite.
  • Develop and integrate configuration management solutions utilizing tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
  • Engage in hands-on work with bare-metal servers and virtual machines (VMs), understanding their lifecycle and operational nuances.
  • Contribute to system architecture and design discussions, providing expert input on scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Write comprehensive technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in customer-facing calls as a technical expert, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.

Working environment:

  • This is a fully remote position.
  • Ideally, you are located within the GMT +/- 1 timezone to facilitate real-time collaboration.
