Role Summary

Are you a highly motivated Software Development Engineer eager to own, enhance, and develop independent/open-source products that solve unique problems for marketing? The Expedia Marketing Technology team’s mission is to build a best-in-class platform that empowers marketing and optimizes value for EG Brands. This platform supports critical marketing use cases and scales operations. The technologies we work with include Golang, Python, Kotlin, React, Kubernetes, Argo, and AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, EMR, RDS, etc.).

We deliver measurable value to Marketing by leveraging AI to enhance scalability, optimize processes, and reduce external spend. By integrating AI-driven tools into creative workflows such as automated content moderation, dynamic asset creation, and intelligent ad optimization, we help transform marketing.

What You’ll Do

• Be part of the Marketing Technology team that powers millions of ads for Expedia Group brands, directly impacting our marketing spend across platforms like Google, Bing, Facebook, Apple, etc.

• Build foundational capabilities necessary to achieve our larger vision: context-aware, agentic workflows that preserve brand integrity while enhancing creativity and productivity. Each project is a step toward a future where AI-driven agents work under expert oversight to execute complex tasks beyond traditional automation.

• Use your engineering expertise, software design, and technical knowledge to create solutions for marketing challenges.

• Develop and test software applications, ensuring they meet feature requirements.

• Stay current with new technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

• Improve the operational aspects of the platform through updates to deployment processes, test automation, performance tuning, and monitoring.

• Collaborate actively with your team to propose design approaches, solve problems, and evaluate technological feasibility.

• Work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and clearly communicate your current work status and blockers to the team.

Who You Are

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

• 8+ years of relevant, professional experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

• Self-starter with the ability to rapidly acquire and learn new software skills and technologies.

• Committed to writing and maintaining high-quality code.

• Experience in developing cloud software services with an understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability design (Kubernetes experience preferred). Familiarity with AWS is a plus.

• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, Scala, Kotlin, or other equivalent languages.

• Experience with React.js is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with testing and monitoring tools.
