Senior Software Engineer - AV Product

This position is US based only. 

We’re looking for a technical and product-focused engineer to help ideate, implement and launch user-facing audio/video products. The AV org is responsible for voice & video calls and screen sharing; both of which bring people together. You will join a team of engineers working across platforms to build products to improve the Discord call experience. To learn more about Discord Engineering, take a look at our engineering blog.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build and maintain new products in the call experience on our desktop and mobile platforms. Collaborate with engineers on the team and data scientists to understand user behavior & needs and build products to delight users.
• Advocating for improvements and new features, and prioritizing them on the team’s roadmap
• Work with analytics, experimentation frameworks, and data science peers to quickly experiment with UX ideas to demonstrate user-facing improvements.
• Own projects end to end — you’ll be responsible for working with Product and other stakeholders to refine requirements, creating technical designs and specs, implementing changes, and seeing projects through to launch and maintenance.
• Building delightful products with a very high bar for quality, performance, and a focus on impact.

• An expertise in web development. You have a deep understanding of React, CSS, and Typescript. 
• 4+ years of experience

Bonus Points

• Experience in video, audio, and/or teleconferencing UX
• Interest or passion for the Discord platform

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000 to $201,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
