The Position:

At GameChanger, we are expanding our platform organization to focus more heavily on our developer experience. This will include focuses on reliability, quality, scalability, maintainability of our system, etc. This specific role within the team will specialize in helping developers build quality solutions by pairing directly with them to discover where there are testing gaps and how to facilitate the existing testing workflows by building a standardized framework and shared libraries. This responsibility stretches the entire testing workflow, from unit tests, integration tests, UI tests, etc. The job is not about writing tests, it is about ensuring our infrastructure and code base make the process as simple as possible.

In this particular role, you will work full stack across our codebase (written in TypeScript, Swift and Kotlin), though you may specialize and focus on one more than the others. You will help identify weaknesses in the existing code base and help design ways to test critical workflows more effectively. You will also use your expertise to help mentor other developers on best practices in the testing space and lift up quality across the entire organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Pioneer new testing strategies and improve existing ones for developers to write in their areas of ownership.

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of testing frameworks, shared libraries and strategies across the company.

  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders, product managers, and QA team members to identify testing needs.

  • Improving the stability and reliability of our testing suites and owning automation and test tooling to increase overall confidence in releases.

  • Identify weaknesses in product design that cause complexity of testing and lead design of refactoring the code with quality in mind.

  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence around quality and testing.

  • Engineer robust software solutions with a strong emphasis on high-quality development standards, ensuring reliability, and maintainability.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, preferably in TypeScript, Kotlin and/or Swift.

  • Extensive experience with testing practices in all levels including unit, integration, UI testing, etc.

  • Proven ability to design and execute on large scale shared libraries along with the ability to investigate external libraries and implement within an existing large code base.

  • Share your expertise by mentoring and training engineers on reliability tactics. This will include creating comprehensive documentation, conducting one-on-one sessions, and leading group training workshops.

The target salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $200,000. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
