Job Description

Marvell is seeking a Senior Staff Firmware Engineer to design and develop system software for high-performing network and storage systems using C/C++. This role involves developing new features, enhancing existing ones for Data-plane/Fast-path software Toolkits, integrating open-source software, and optimizing Crypto and IPsec security software. The engineer will also troubleshoot hardware bring-up issues, analyze software performance, and provide technical guidance, working on ARM-based storage/networking products.

Must Have:
  • Architect, design and develop system software for reliable, scalable, high performing network and storage systems using C/C++.
  • Develop new features and enhance existing features for Data-plane/Fast-path software Toolkits.
  • Integrate open-source/customer software with Data-plane/Fast-path Toolkits.
  • Develop Crypto and IPsec security software optimized for Marvell Crypto/IPsec Accelerators.
  • Develop software and troubleshoot issues related to hardware bring-up, multi-threaded software development.
  • Analyze and investigate methods to enhance software performance on Marvell SoC.
  • Work with Technical Marketing engineers, product managers and cross functional hardware/software engineers to understand and solve customer issues.
  • Plan, schedule, estimate efforts for projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Work on ARM based storage/Networking products, design and develop firmware and software.
  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • 5-10 years of related professional experience with Networking systems, Storage systems, C/C++, Linux Kernel Driver Development, ARM based CPU's, Crypto / IPSec Accelerators, Hardware bring-up on ARM, jtag, PCIE protocol familiarity.

What You Can Expect

  • Architect, design and develop system software for reliable, scalable, high performing network and storage systems using C/C++.
  • Develop new features and enhance existing features for Data-plane/Fast-path software Toolkits by designing data structures and algorithms tailored for Marvell MIPS/ARM based CPU, coprocessors and hardware-based accelerators.
  • Integrate open-source/customer software with Data-plane/Fast-path Toolkits to deliver software solutions to customer products.
  • Develop Crypto and IPsec security software (protocol and applications) optimized for Marvell Crypto/IPsec Accelerators.
  • Develop software and troubleshoot issues related to hardware bring-up, multi-threaded software development with virtualized hardware.
  • Analyze and investigate methods to enhance software performance on Marvell SoC by eliminating bottle-necks using existing hardware and simulators and suggest future hardware/software design improvements.
  • Work with Technical Marketing engineers (TME), product managers and cross functional hardware/software engineers to understand and solve customer issues.
  • Plan, schedule, estimate efforts for projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers during execution.
  • Work on ARM based storage/Networking products, design and develop firmware and software for Storage and networking products.

What We're Looking For

  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience with:
  • Networking systems.
  • Storage systems
  • C/C++
  • Linux Kernel Driver Development
  • ARM based CPU's
  • Crypto / IPSec Accelerators
  • Hardware bring-up on ARM, jtag
  • PCIE protocol familiarity
  • DPDK, VPP is a plus
