Senior Systems Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Systems Test Engineer to join our testing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a repository of testing models and techniques and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality. The role involves planning, designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive testing frameworks across various platforms, including web, backend, mobile, and APIs. A strong command of functional and performance testing, defect management, and industry-standard tools is essential.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and execute various testing types, including Black Box, White Box, Functional, Integration, Load, Stress, and Sandbox testing.
• Develop testing strategies, test plans, scenario matrices, and detailed test cases based on Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS).
• Perform API testing using Postman and automate where applicable.
• Execute test cases and manage defects using tools like JIRA and TestRail.
• Ensure CMMi-compliant documentation and follow established testing processes across unit and integration phases.
• Collaborate with software development teams to understand system architecture and identify optimal testing methods.
• Participate in test data preparation, performance benchmarking, and risk assessment.
• Validate applications at the database, UI, and logical levels using SQL.
• Conduct manual and automation testing; contribute to automation framework development.
• Support mobile application testing as needed.
• Create and maintain testing documentation throughout the test lifecycle.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five (5)+ years of experience in software/system testing, preferably in product-based environments.
• Hands-on experience in Functional Testing, API Testing (Postman), SQL, and defect management tools (JIRA/TestRail).
• Familiarity with test case management tools and version control systems.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC/STLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

• Experience with Soap UI for service testing.
• Knowledge of JavaScript for scripting or automation extensions.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
• Exposure to automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience in performance or load testing tools is an added advantage.
