Job Description

Google is looking for a Sensor Algorithm Engineer to join their Pixel team. This role will focus on developing innovative health and motion features for Wearable and Phone products. Responsibilities include developing sensor fusion and machine learning algorithms, implementing and deploying software across multiple layers of the Pixel and Android software stack, and optimizing algorithms for performance and power constraints. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine learning algorithms, sensor data analysis, and software development in resource-constrained environments.

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development
3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products
1 year of experience with software design and architecture
3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools
Experience working on one project in a resource-constrained environment

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience productizing machine learning solutions in embedded environments.
Experience developing algorithms for time-series data.
Expertise with machine learning methods including foundation models and Large Language Model (LLMs).
Expertise in signal processing.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning or natural language processing.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience working on one project in a resource-constrained environment (e.g., a phone, embedded device, or something similar).
Experience productizing machine learning solutions in embedded environments.
Experience developing algorithms for time-series data (e.g., inertial sensors, audio, and radar).
Expertise with machine learning methods including foundation models and Large Language Model (LLMs).
Expertise in signal processing (e.g., filtering, detection).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Manage applied research and data analysis focused on realizing innovative high-quality health and motion related features for Wearable and Phone products.
Develop sensor fusion and machine learning algorithms that leverage Google hardware and latest innovations in ML/AI.
Implement and deploy production-level software across multiple layers of the Pixel and Android software stack.
Optimize algorithms across performance requirements, signals of opportunity, availability of other sensor inputs, and system level power constraints.
Develop and execute plans for collecting high quality, labelled sensor data.
