As a Silicon Engineer Intern, you will be part of Google's Consumer Hardware Silicon division, designing, developing, and deploying consumer hardware. You will work on chips optimized for Google-branded devices in areas like imaging, machine learning, video, and security. Your responsibilities will include performance validation and simulation, analysis, and automation of test suites and models. You will also participate in evaluating future ASIC designs and overall architecture.
Must have:
  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communication Engineering or related technical field
  • Experience with basic design concepts and computer hardware architecture
  • Experience with C, C++, MATLAB/OCTVE, Python, SystemVerilog / VHDL, or Verilog
Good to have:
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, or OCEAN
  • Research or teaching experience, previous internships, or personal projects in areas like Algorithms and theory, Analog IC design, Architecture/system specification, ASIC design, Data Mining, Digital design, Hardware and architecture, Infrastructure/systems programming, Machine learning and artificial intelligence, Mixed-signal, or Natural language processing, or TensorFlow

Minimum qualifications:

  • Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term.
  • In penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, or OCEAN.
  • Research or teaching experience, previous internships, or personal projects in one or more of the following areas: Algorithms and theory, Analog IC design, Architecture/system specification, ASIC design, Data Mining, Digital design, Hardware and architecture, Infrastructure/systems programming, Machine learning and artificial intelligence, Mixed-signal, or Natural language processing, or TensorFlow.

As a Silicon Engineer, you will design, develop and deploy consumer hardware. Google's Consumer Hardware Silicon division builds chips optimized for Google-branded consumer devices. Our product areas include imaging, machine learning, video, and security. We are currently hiring in Bangalore across all parts of the development process including: architecture evaluation and definition, microarchitecture, RTL, verification, emulation/prototyping, DFT, physical design and silicon validation. As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you will use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. Additionally, you will participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You will also work in a manufacturing and product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $84,000-$112,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Perform performance validation and simulation using C/C++ and RTL-based models, and performance correlation.
  • Perform analysis results in both qualitative and quantitative fashion.
  • Create tools/scripts to automate test suites and models to improve functionality of simulators.
  • Participate in evaluation of future ASIC designs and general architecture.
