SageCor Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to develop and maintain system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. The role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Candidates should have experience with Linux CLI, scripting (Bash/Python), programming in Python and Rust, containerization (Docker, PodMan, containerd), automation (Ansible), troubleshooting, CI/CD (GitLab CI, Jenkins), and Git. A Master's degree with 5 years, Bachelor's with 7 years, or 9 years of experience is required.
Must have:
  • Develop and maintain system management infrastructure software and services.
  • Work with High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.
  • Use Linux CLI.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Develop software solutions using Python and Rust.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, PodMan, containerd).
  • Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible).
  • Perform troubleshooting and debugging in operational systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD principles and tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Experience with Git Source Control System.

  • Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
  • Familiar with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk
  • Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak
  • Familiar with Secret Management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies

Serving Maryland and the Greater Washington D.C. area, SageCor Solutions (SageCor) is a growing company bringing complete engineering services and true full lifecycle System Engineering services to areas requiring (or desiring) nationally-recognized expertise in high performance computing, large data analytics and cutting edge information technologies.

Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required.

SWE-3 Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • OR
  • Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Position Description:

The Software Engineer shall be part of an overarching project responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

Position Required Skills:

  • Experience using the Linux CLI
  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes
  • Experience developing software solutions using programming languages such as Python, and Rust in a Linux environment
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containerd
  • Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment
  • Experience performing troubleshooting and debugging issues in an operational system
  • Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
  • Experience with Git Source Control System

Position Desired Skills:
