Must have:
  • Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Experience with modern IDEs, source control, and continuous integration systems
  • Comfortable working with large codebases
  • Comfortable learning and working with multiple programming languages
  • Knowledge of common automated testing practices
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, preferably in Java
  • Participate in an on-call rota to support production services
Good to have:
  • 2 or more years of work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree without experience

The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you will help us achieve our goals and deliver success on behalf of our customer by developing services and infrastructure for our global, multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will cooperate with engineers working across the product to deliver new, cross-cutting functionality and to maintain and update existing systems.

Working with internal stakeholders to understand and specify product requirements, whilst learning and becoming knowledgeable about cloud infrastructure and managed cloud services. You will write and monitor automated tests to ensure the correct functionality of systems owned by your team. This role requires you to participate in an on-call rota to support the production services owned by your team (including out-of-hours support where required).

Responsibilities

  • Delivering new features with some supervision: from specification, through development, and into final deployment.
  • Being aware of how your work fits in with the team’s area of responsibility and contributes to the team’s goals.
  • Performing code reviews.
  • Communicating progress regularly whilst identifying any blocking issues and escalating where required.
  • Building and maintaining good knowledge of the team’s area of responsibility and engineering processes.
  • Contributing to and working on cross-functional features and bugs.
  • Providing input into future technological development and improvements to your team’s workflow.

This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of 3 days per week in the office.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of work experience; or Bachelor’s Degree without experience

Required experience:

  • Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

**U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 79,900.00 to 113,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
