The Tools and Technology Team is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfill our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality. The challenge ahead:

As a Software Engineer II , you will support our Foundations and Tech Excellence pillar by utilizing a broad skillset to upgrade, extend, and support a variety of EA’s crucial content tools. You will partner with a Product Owner and Technical Director and collaborate with a talented development team. You will report to a Development Director.

Day to day you will...

  • Identify and solve complex, systematic problems in the domain of tools, pipeline, and workflow development
  • Partner with artists and engineers to develop user-friendly tools, efficient pipelines, and optimized workflows that aid in the development and iteration of game content
  • Gather user requirements, design, implement, debug, test, and maintain quality code
  • Optimize existing codebases and workflows
  • Collaborate with our QA team to create and strengthen unit testing workflows

You are/you have…

  • 3+ years of experience developing content creation tools and workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Python
  • Experience with DCCs such as Houdini, Maya
  • Knowledge of content creation (e.g. modeling, shading) and software engineering best practices (e.g. design patterns, object-oriented design)
  • Experience creating and developing unit tests
  • Experience creating comprehensive user documentation

Bonus if you have…

  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal, Frostbite, Unity, etc.
  • Experience with UI/UX patterns and workflows
  • Experience using USD-based workflows and Git BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $96,400 - $133,900 CAN Annually Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
