Join the Sony Engagement Platform Services (SEPS) Team as a Full Stack Software Engineer II. You will contribute to building secure, scalable, and user-friendly internal applications for Sony's next-generation digital engagement platform. This role involves working across front-end and back-end systems, collaborating with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain high-quality features. Responsibilities include architecting RESTful APIs, developing dynamic web applications, defining data models, managing databases, and creating documentation. This position offers exposure to platform-level development in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, shaping the future of fan experiences across Sony's entertainment ecosystem.
Must have:
  • Architect, design, and develop RESTful API Endpoints.
  • Collaborate with Front-End Engineers on web applications.
  • Define Data Models and manage databases (relational/NoSQL).
  • Create and maintain application documentation.
  • 3+ years professional experience with complex code bases.
  • Experience in Full Stack development.
  • Proficiency in Java, Go, or Python.
  • Proficiency in REST API design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Database management, cloud technologies (AWS), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of React best practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automated deployment tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum.

POSITION SUMMARY

SEPS is seeking a proactive and growth-oriented Full Stack Engineer II to join our team in developing internal applications that support the Sony Engagement Platform. In this role, you'll contribute to building secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that impact a wide range of Sony business units.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll work across both front-end and back-end systems, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to design, develop, and maintain high-quality features. This role is a great fit for engineers looking to deepen their technical expertise, gain exposure to platform-level development, and grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect, design and develop RESTful API Endpoints, ensuring high performance, scalability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with other Front-End Engineers and develop dynamic, responsive and user-friendly web applications.
  • Define Data Models and database schemas and manage relational databases or NoSQL databases ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Create and maintain documentation of application design, configuration and maintenance.
  • Provide accurate timelines for specific tasks assigned.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.
  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • 3+ years professional experience working with medium/large complex code bases
  • Experience in Full Stack development
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Go, or Python
  • Experience in REST API design and implementation
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, the JavaScript ecosystem and familiarity with popular frameworks like React, Angular, Ember, Jest, Babel, and TypeScript
  • Knowledgeable in UI/UX design principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to collaborate and to develop strong and positive team relationships
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or at least three years of proven experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Database management, cloud technologies (AWS), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of React best practices
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Automated deployment tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $155,000 to $175,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
