As a Software Engineer- QA, this is what you’ll be doing:

At QS, we are dedicated to transforming the higher education landscape through our diverse range of products. As a Software Engineer – QA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Partner Discovery solution, a new innovative tool, designed to help universities to identify and connect with potential partners worldwide. You'll design and implement efficient testing strategies, conduct both manual and automated testing, and actively contribute to continuous improvement in our software development processes. This is an exciting opportunity to influence a product from its inception and be part of a project that will redefine partnership discovery in the education sector.

Role responsibilities: 

The key duties and responsibilities of this role are:

• Design and execute tests: Develop, test, and execute detailed test plans that ensure software functionality and performance meet our high standards.
• Comprehensive testing: Create and implement thorough test cases, leveraging various scenarios and use cases to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Manual and automated testing: Perform manual testing and develop automation scripts to identify and document defects, facilitating prompt corrections.
• Validate updates: Conduct regression testing to confirm that new changes do not negatively impact existing developments.
• Document findings: Compile thorough documentation of testing processes, test cases, and results for use in future reference and continuous improvement.
• Innovate and improve: Stay informed about industry trends and implement best practices to continuously refine testing methodologies.
• And any other duties that fall within the scope and purpose of the role.
  
  

Key skills and experience:

The following skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications are required to perform the role:

• Technical degree, such as BE or B.Tech, with a focus on software testing and quality assurance, backed by relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of manual functional testing, web testing, and UI testing.
• Experience in interpreting new requirements to develop Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Estimations.
• Basic proficiency in Core Java, HTML, API testing (e.g., POSTMAN), Jenkins, and SQL.
• Experience with JIRA for bug tracking and TestRail for writing test cases.
• Additional experience in Katalon automation, Git, Selenium with Java/Python, VPAT testing, cross-browser testing, security testing, and performance testing with JMeter is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, enabling productive collaboration with QAs, developers, and stakeholders.
• Driven and self-motivated with the capability to work independently while seeking and integrating guidance as necessary.
