This individual contributor role is responsible for implementing solutions related to product data in global supply chain systems and resolving escalated issues with internal customers. This role requires a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can quickly resolve product data issues while managing multiple other high-priority projects. Working with a cross-functional team to create new products and items in new markets or jurisdictions will be essential. Additionally, this role will assist with driving the adoption of industry-recognized product data management principles and related data quality initiatives. Typical initiatives will require working directly with Operations, Logistics, Warehouse, Planning, Procurement, and Finance to resolve challenges, document requirements for new functionality, produce reports, and train on new processes. A qualified candidate is expected to have significant knowledge in creating and maintaining multi-level bills of materials and proper engineering change processes.
Must have:
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 6 years supporting Supply Chain functions
  • Experience in product/item data management
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to perform tasks efficiently
  • Possesses good problem-solving skills
  • Possesses good project management skills and organizational skills
  • Proven experience mentoring team members
  • Ability to effectively communicate across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prepare, present, and communicate solutions
  • Can meet changing demands and adapt to frequently changing priorities
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Certification in production and inventory management (CPIM) as a supply chain professional (CSCP) or a Lean Six Sigma black belt (LSSBB)
  • Experience working within the supply chain and production modules in major ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle)

What You'll Do

  • Work with business leaders to solve complex challenges related to product data.
  • Ensure the highest quality of product data accuracy to enable continuous manufacturing flow and zero defects. 
  • Drive continuous process improvement and efficiencies, primarily in the product data function, by maximizing the capabilities of D365 and our other platforms, such as MS Dynamics, Siemens Teamcenter, and SAGE ERP.
  • Research and provide solutions for reported escalated product master data support tickets and engineer change orders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather and document data and other requirements to meet business needs.
  • Work directly with the New Product Implementation Team to consult on product master data structure and identify potential solutions and best practices; those solutions will then be transferred to the PDM team.
  • Prepare trend data and statistics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing complex data and metrics; present / explain findings and suggest enhancements and improvements.
  • Work with the PDM team and leadership to review operational processes, identifying gaps and inefficiencies and suggesting changes using defined processes, judgment, and expertise.
  • Facilitate detailed discussions with the users to determine requirements, document system enhancements or modification requests, and develop detailed project specifications.
  • Create product master data process documentation and internal training material for CI and CII products as required.
  • Work with the PDM Quality Manager to complete solution documentation for appropriate maintenance and governance.
  • Maintain and communicate accurate status of work performed within applicable systems and status update meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Certification in production and inventory management (CPIM) as a supply chain professional (CSCP) or a Lean Six Sigma black belt (LSSBB) is highly preferred. 
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant work experience with a minimum of eight years in a manufacturing environment (with at least six years supporting Supply Chain functions)
  • Minimum ten years of experience working within the supply chain and production modules in major ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle)
  • Experience in product/item data management including data quality monitoring and cleansing
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements to identify process gaps and required system configuration changes
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to perform tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
  • Possesses good problem-solving skills to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Possesses good project management skills and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience mentoring team members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across cross-functional teams and technical and business engagement managers.
  • Ability to prepare, present, and communicate solutions to technical and business audiences. 
  • Can meet changing demands and adapt to frequently changing priorities. 
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
