Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will take a pivotal role building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance analytics applications. Your knowledge of AWS, data warehousing and infrastructure will be crucial in shaping our platform's future. You will mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to our mission of enabling our organization to increase revenue through data driven insights.
Must have:
  • Design and build data lakes, warehouses, infrastructure, pipelines (ETL/ELT), and models.
  • Automate data ingestion, delivery, processing, and quality.
  • Maintain system infrastructure, IAM policies, and security standards.
  • Maintain system network.
  • Apply expertise in AWS cloud solutions and architecture.
  • Research and recommend technical solutions for complex problems.
  • Learn new tools for performance, automation, and scalability.
  • Translate business goals into technical solutions.
  • 2-5 years data engineering and/or data warehousing experience.
  • 2-5 years building AWS cloud data solutions.
  • Proficiency in designing and deploying data pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently or in teams.
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., DBT).
  • Proficiency in data modeling and storage practices (data lakes, warehouses, marts, OLAP).
  • Proficiency in Agile, DevOps, and DataOps concepts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, YAML).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data profiling and transformation.
  • Proficiency in version control platforms (e.g., Git).
  • Proficiency in IaaC (e.g., CloudFormation).
  • Proficiency in Networking (VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, Route Tables).
  • Proficiency in AWS services (Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, EventBridge, ECS).

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Design, develop, and build data lakes, data warehouses, data infrastructure, data pipelines (ETL/ELT), and data models
  • Automate the ingestion, delivery, processing, and quality, of structured and unstructured data
  • Support and maintain system infrastructure, IAM policies and adhere to corporate security standards
  • Support and maintain system network
  • Bring your expertise in Amazon Web Services cloud solutions, architecture, related technologies, and their interdependencies
  • Research, analyze, recommend, and select technical approaches for solving difficult and meaningful development and integration problems
  • Learn and embrace new tools and techniques to increase performance, automation, and scalability
  • Understand business goals and drivers and translate those into an appropriate technical solution

What You Will Bring:

  • You bring 2-5 years of data engineering and/or data warehousing experience
  • You have 2-5 years of experience building AWS cloud data solutions
  • Proficient in designing and deploying data pipelines for ingest and transformation
  • You have strong communication skills and can translate technology to business and vice versa
  • You're a strong analytical problem-solver
  • You're a self-starter who has the ability to work independently or as part of a project team
  • Proficient in minimum 5 of the following:
  • Relevant ETL/ELT tool for data & analytics platforms (e.g. DBT)
  • Data modeling and storage practices for data lakes, big data applications, data warehouses, data marts, and OLAP services
  • Agile development methodologies including DevOps and DataOps concepts
  • Relevant programming language for cloud platforms (e.g. Python and YAML)
  • SQL for data profiling and transformation
  • Version control platforms like Git
  • IaaC (e.g. CloudFormation)
  • Networking (VPC infrastructure and configuration: Subnets, Security Groups, Route Tables)
  • AWS services supporting data architecture: Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, EventBridge, ECS
