As part of Apple Intelligence, this team is at the forefront of the next revolution in machine learning and Generative AI, creating groundbreaking conversational assistant technologies for large-scale systems and new client devices. The ML Systems Evaluation Engineering (MLSEE) team evaluates AIML products. As a Performance Framework Software Engineer, you will develop solutions, including designing automation and performance frameworks for scalable ML product measurements. This role involves building tools, APIs, and infrastructure for ML product qualification and tracking user impact metrics, contributing to iOS product roadmap decisions.
Must have:
  • Develop the solutions required to deliver successful Apple products.
  • Design of automation and performance frameworks and methodologies for evaluating scalable performance measurements for ML based products.
  • Building and implementing tools, APIs and infrastructure for ML based product qualification, and tracking user impact metrics.
  • Participate in the iOS products roadmap decisions, contributing insights and recommendations.
Good to have:
  • Strong software engineering skills, including system design, development, testing, debugging, release and maintenance
  • Experience with Objective-C or least one other object-oriented programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java)
  • Excellent understanding of an ML-based product lifecycle
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge and application of statistics-based evaluation methodologies or user success metrics
  • Ability to independently learn new technologies in a fast paced environment
  • Good knowledge on Performance concepts and performance measurement strategies
  • Experienced in multiple design patterns and multithreading
  • Shown problem solving and debugging skills: analyze and investigate failures, errors, and build issues, able to properly drive issues to completion and support issues with data
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Possess an outgoing and positive attitude to mobilize and lead others

As a Performance Framework Software Engineer, you will develop the solutions required to deliver successful products. These include design of automation and performance frameworks and methodologies for evaluating scalable performance measurements for ML based products. This role requires building and implementing tools, APIs and infrastructure for ML based product qualification, and tracking user impact metrics. Equally, this role will participate in the iOS products roadmap decisions, contributing insights and recommendations derived from the in-depth understanding of the current success metrics of products.

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale data and compute-intensive Frameworks / APIs, and tools
  • Experience with designing of Designing and Architecting tools and frameworks designed for testing and measuring performance
  • Proven expertise in Swift and Python
  • Strong software engineering skills, including system design, development, testing, debugging, release and maintenance
  • Experience with Objective-C or least one other object-oriented programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java)
  • Excellent understanding of an ML-based product lifecycle
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge and application of statistics-based evaluation methodologies or user success metrics
