Apple’s Enterprise team is seeking a Sr. Tools and Automation Engineer to enhance their Enterprise platform, including Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager. The role involves building advanced tools and tests, leveraging AI and machine learning for self-healing tests, intelligent failure analysis, and predictive quality insights to ensure product quality for education and business worldwide. The engineer will work independently yet collaboratively to pioneer cutting-edge test applications and shape quality standards.
Must have:
  • Pioneer cutting-edge test applications and test automation enhanced by AI capabilities.
  • Collaborate across Apple with teams building the future of intelligent testing.
  • Shape quality standards that influence Apple's engineering culture.
  • Innovate with AI to create next-generation testing solutions that predict, prevent, and self-heal.
  • 8+ years crafting test automation for complex, large-scale systems.
  • Experience as a tools architect, building testing and automation tools.
  • Fluency in multiple languages like Swift/Java for robust solutions and Python/Ruby for quick wins.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for test generation, failure analysis, or intelligent automation.
  • Strong detective skills to hunt down root causes of bugs.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical complexity into clear insights.
Good to have:
  • BS CS/EE/CE or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in XCTest/Swift.
  • Experience with iOS/macOS testing.
  • Experience with advanced AI/ML testing.

We are looking for an automation engineer who thinks beyond typical testing —someone who builds advanced tools and tests that enables our team to ship faster, safer, and at Apple scale. You'll pioneer test automation that don't just catch bugs, but prevent entire classes of issues from reaching our users. In our AI-first world, you'll leverage cutting-edge LLMs and machine learning to create self-healing tests, intelligent failure analysis, and predictive quality insights. You'll be the quality guardian for products that power education and business worldwide. Working independently yet collaboratively, you will:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
