Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our expanding Accounting team. This pivotal role will involve maintaining day-to-day accounting operations while also providing comprehensive support for procurement activities as our GPU cloud infrastructure scales. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for AP/AR processing, vendor onboarding, expense reporting, and procurement assistance, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the integrity of internal controls. This position is ideally suited for an individual who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and enthusiastic about developing scalable systems within a rapidly expanding GPU-as-a-service (GPUaaS) company.
Must have:
  • Process vendor invoices per GAAP and company policy.
  • Support vendor onboarding and payment configuration.
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate and process customer invoices.
  • Track collections and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Assist with deferred revenue tracking and ASC 606 compliance.
  • Review and process employee expense reports.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate Travel & Entertainment policy.
  • Assist with purchase order processing in NetSuite.
  • Maintain vendor master data and SOC-2 compliance.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end close processes.
  • Collaborate on audit requests and compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in AP/AR processing and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Proficiency in Excel and various financial systems.
Good to have:
  • Exposure to ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (lease accounting).
  • Experience with procurement workflows or vendor compliance (e.g., SOC-2 readiness).
  • Prior experience within a startup or high-growth company.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our expanding Accounting team. This pivotal role will involve maintaining day-to-day accounting operations while also providing comprehensive support for procurement activities as our GPU cloud infrastructure scales. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for AP/AR processing, vendor onboarding, expense reporting, and procurement assistance, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the integrity of internal controls.

This position is ideally suited for an individual who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and enthusiastic about developing scalable systems within a rapidly expanding GPU-as-a-service (GPUaaS) company.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process vendor invoices in strict accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Support comprehensive vendor onboarding, encompassing W-9 collection, tax documentation, and payment configuration.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate disbursement of payments to vendors, including GPU suppliers, data center landlords, and utility providers.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and diligently resolve any discrepancies.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Generate and process customer invoices (covering monthly, quarterly, and annual billing cycles; distinguishing between non-recurring and recurring charges).
  • Systematically track collections and initiate follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Provide assistance with deferred revenue tracking and ensure adherence to customer contract compliance (with consideration for ASC 606).

Expense Management

  • Review and meticulously process employee expense reports (utilizing Expensify or a comparable platform).
  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate Travel & Entertainment (T&E) policy.
  • Collaborate with People Operations on payroll adjustments or employee reimbursements.

Procurement Support

  • Assist with the comprehensive processing of purchase orders within NetSuite (encompassing subsidiary-to-subsidiary and vendor purchase orders).
  • Maintain vendor master data and ensure full compliance with SOC-2 requirements and internal controls.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Procurement and Operations teams regarding order tracking and approvals.

General Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare precise journal entries and execute account reconciliations for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and expense accounts.
  • Support month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Accounting on audit requests and compliance activities.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within technology, cloud infrastructure, or SaaS/IaaS environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with AP/AR processing and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (NetSuite is strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort with various financial systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven capacity to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (lease accounting).
