This Staff Software Engineer (Frontend - ReactNative) role within Walmart's Enterprise Business Services (EBS) focuses on the Global Time and Attendance (GTA) team, ensuring accurate and timely payroll for 2.2 million associates. The position involves designing and developing intuitive, scalable, and user-friendly web and mobile applications. Key responsibilities include architecture and design reviews, code reviews, collaborating with product management, maintaining code quality, testing, troubleshooting, and implementing software security measures. The role also includes coaching team members and continuously improving software effectiveness.

  • Seek ways to improve software and its effectiveness.
  • Participate in hiring and build high-performing agile teams.

  • 9+ years experience in designing and developing highly performant, scalable, and user-friendly web and mobile applications.
  • Expert level knowledge of React, React Native, Next Js, Typescript, Node.js.
  • Experience in writing effective test cases and test automation.
  • Experience in implementing QE strategy, frameworks, and automation for mobile and web applications.
  • Experience releasing mobile solutions to App Store and Google Play Store, and web solutions to production.
  • Deep understanding and experience of debugging issues in mobile and web applications.
  • Experience with data storage and data retrieval.
  • Experience with authorization and authentication frameworks in implementing those into mobile and web applications.
  • Experience with version control using Git in collaboration settings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and optimize application performance.

Global Time and Attendance (GTA) team is responsible for ensuring that Walmart’s 2.2M associates are paid accurately and in a timely manner every time. The team is responsible for the calculating the accurate billable hours of each associate based on their punches. which is further used to generate their pay’s based on their wage calculations.

What you'll do:

  • Through this role you have an opportunity to design and develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.
  • Architecture & Design Reviews and Code Reviews across teams.
  • You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
  • Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
  • In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all codes, best practices and create updates regularly to address the customer’s and company’s concerns
  • You will show your skills in analyzing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance
  • Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
  • Software security is of prime importance and by developing programs that monitor sharing of private information, you will be able to add tremendous credibility to your work
  • You will also be required to seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
  • Participate in hiring and build teams enabling them to be high performing agile teams.
  • You will be called upon to support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications

What you'll bring:

  • You have 9 years experience in designing and developing highly performant, scalable, and user-friendly web and mobile applications
  • You have a bachelors/masters degree in computer science, information technology, or related area
  • Expert level knowledge of React, React Native, Next Js, Typescript Node.js
  • Experience in writing effective test cases and test automation
  • Experience in implementing QE strategy, frameworks and automation for mobile and web applications.
  • Experience releasing mobile solutions to App Store and Google play store, and web solutions to production
