The Role

Maersk’s Strategic Insights team wants to strengthen competitor benchmarking to support the requirement of data driven insights. We are looking for a Strategy and Competitor Analyst with a proven track record of research skills, financial acumen, problem solving and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• The job entails devoting around 80% of time on competitor analysis and the remaining time on supporting Strategy related analyses

• Acquire data from secondary data sources and maintain databases

• Prepare coverage on quarterly financial results of the top container carriers, terminal operators and logistics/forwarders competitors and an in-depth competitor analysis of all financial metrics during the quarter

• Write a brief memo on the overview of the key industry trends and competitor activities observed during the quarter for the senior management

• Prepare competitor profiles containing company overview such as organisation chart, financial position, operational metrics, major updates etc.

• Provide support in various ad-hoc analysis and internal/external presentations

• Provide and explain data on an ad hoc basis to stakeholders

• Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results

We are Looking for

    Sound analytical skills, a passion for data and analysis. You have a strong sense of detail, and you should be able to look out for details and identify errors if any.
    You are ambitious and very comfortable with and get motivated by taking on responsibilities of the specialist role and it is also natural for you to seek this on your own initiative.
    You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A good command of written and verbal English is a must
    You have 5 years of proven working experience as a Financial Analyst or similar
    You have strong skillset in Excel, Powerpoint, Thinkcell
    Post-Graduation in Finance from a renowned university
