Job Description

This role involves providing expertise in Systems Design Integration, focusing on problem resolution, requirements definition, and the design and integration of products and systems. Key responsibilities include performing technical analysis, verifying products throughout their lifecycle, and applying knowledge of gas turbine operations. The engineer will utilize Systems Engineering principles, manage interfaces, and lead investigations into quality concerns. The position requires strong communication and coordination skills within multi-disciplinary teams.
Must have:
  • Provide sound knowledge in Systems Design Integration
  • Responsible for problem resolution and defining requirements
  • Design and integrate products, physical & functional systems & product systems
  • Perform technical analysis and verify products throughout the lifecycle
  • Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation and manage interfaces
  • Design systems using Systems Engineering principals and Robust Design tools
  • Own root cause investigations, problem reports, and other quality concerns
  • Determine, manage, and flow system level requirements
  • Plan and manage product change, design technical approval, and technical investigations
  • Verify system meets requirements and own standardization reports
  • Communicate with and influence all levels, including customers
  • Work with and co-ordinate extended multi-disciplinary teams
  • Hold an Associate Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of related experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of related experience OR a Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Be a US Citizen

  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies
  • Understanding cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition
  • Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks
  • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization

What you will be doing:

  • Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems and interactions. Integrate and manage interfaces.
  • Design of systems using Systems Engineering principals including the use of Robust Design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.
  • Problem resolution experience including ownership of, for example: root cause investigations, problem reports, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs). Dealing with ambiguity.
  • Applying knowledge of the importance of determining, managing & flowing system level requirements.
  • Planning and management of product change, design technical approval and technical investigations.
  • Verifying that the system meets the requirements and ownership of standardization reports.
  • Good inter-personal and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with and influence all levels including the customer.
  • Work with and co-ordinate extended (i.e. not necessarily co-located) multi-disciplinary teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • An Associate Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of related experience as listed below OR;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of related experience as listed below OR;
  • A Masters degree in Engineering
