Job Description

We are hiring a Java Tech Lead to architect, build, and lead delivery of microservice-based applications deployed on AWS. You will lead a small cross-functional development team, collaborate with product. Lead and mentor a development team, architect and implement microservices using Java 17 (Spring/Spring Boot preferred), own technical design, API design, and system integration patterns. Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments on AWS EC2, ensuring robust database design and performance with relational databases. Drive test automation, code quality, observability, and incident response, participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Must have:
  • Lead and mentor a development team (planning, code reviews).
  • Architect and implement microservices using Java 17 (Spring/Spring Boot preferred).
  • Own technical design, API design, and system integration patterns.
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Deploy and operate applications on AWS (EC2-based deployments); collaborate with DevOps.
  • Ensure robust database design and performance with relational databases.
  • Drive test automation, code quality, observability (logging/metrics), and incident response.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with product owners and QA.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs and roadmap to stakeholders.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience leading development teams.
  • Strong hands-on Java development experience targeting Java 17.
  • Proven experience designing and building microservice architectures.
  • Experience deploying and handling applications on AWS EC2.
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases (schema design, SQL tuning).
  • Practical experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiar with containerization (Docker).
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7 years of professional experience leading development teams (team lead, tech lead, or similar)
  • Strong hands-on Java development experience targeting Java 17
  • Proven experience designing and building microservice architectures
  • Experience deploying and handling applications on AWS EC2
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases (schema design, SQL tuning)
  • Practical experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • Familiar with containerization (Docker); Openshift/Redhat experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
