TECHNICAL ANIMATOR
SophiaVerse – an in-development gaming experience associated with cutting-edge AGI development – is actively looking for a Technical Animator to join our team. This position will be responsible for a broad range of animation duties, both character and environmental, required to implement a persistent multiplayer metaverse with AI and player character interactivity. We are looking for someone who is an expert with rigging and animation in Blender-Unity (or pure Unity), and technical animation tasks in C#, Rust, and other Unity systems, who will fit well with our team and can help us make a great experience.
In this role, you will:
· Take ownership of the animation and animtech-integration tasks needed to implement an interactable 3D environment featuring AI and player characters.
· Systematize the animation process into a library-driven, high-reuse, efficient pipeline.
· Solve animtech challenges involved in creating a persistent multiuser game environment featuring interactable environments with AI and player character actors.
· Ensure the animation library, and animtech script library, are robust, efficient, and scalable.
· Create character and environmental animations, and integrate them into the environments/levels.
· Prototype, refine, and deploy solutions to all our animtech problems in creating a persistent, stateful, interactive, multiuser experience.
· Work with gameplay programmers to ensure animtech solutions perform as needed to implement interactions between characters, characters-environmental interactions, and environment-to-environment interactions.
· Participate in gameplay and animtech code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring that all systems are implementing the necessary hooks and procedures for animtech integration.
· Write efficient, high-quality, scalable, testable animtech scripts.
· Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently · Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animtech systems.
What we're looking for:
· An expert in Unity animation, with sufficient Animator component and C# and/or Rust skills to implement clean animtech code
· Animation experience, both character and environmental, in Unity, Unity+Blender, or similar animation-into-engine pipelines
· A keen analytical mind, with strong problem-solving skills
· Experience developing and shipping AA or AAA games as a technical animator
· Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
